Yesterday was a great day for news, and news makers alike. ANC (The ABSCBN News Channel) has revamped and launched new shows for its offering this latter part of the year. We had the pleasure of meeting these esteemed broadcast journalists yesterday and boy I was star struck a plenty seeing those who I admire on TV and Radio. I'm a frustrated news anchor. It was a treat seeing them all in the flesh!

For those who are religiously watching ANC, mornings just wouldn't be complete without Mornings@ANC. With the likes of the great Ron Cruz, the recently announced 8th Cutest Newsman Paolo Abrera, Star Newscaster Ginger Conejero with the latest addition of everybody's sweetheart Ms. Pinky Webb this program will prove to be more in depth in local and international news, sports, health, the latest trends and entertainment. She'll have more lee way in bringing the news this time and she's excited also about the banter portion where they could talk about anything under the sun! It's going to be one great show and more! Gigi Grande and TJ Manotoc brings you the news before it comes to primetime.

Chugging up your afternoon with breaking news stories this side of the world is Dateline Philippines. Ms. Gigi Grande and TJ Manotoc will bring you the best news without waiting for the evening newscast right in the comforts if your home. Ms. Grande covered the Australian - NZ region for a couple of years and have gone through the hardest beat of them all. She said the network journalists here are pampered and she had to do editing, covering, shooting the news herself. If that isn't preparation enough for this one, I don't know what will. TJ Manotoc on the other hand will bring you the best Sports and Technology coverages which he recognizes as his strengths. He assures everyone that they would be able to deliver first even before it reaches primetime news later in the evening. They will also have guests on the show live, straight from the horses mouth. I had tons of laugh when Mr. Tony Velasquez stepped in. His humor that afternoon was quite contagious. It was like political satire meets serious news. Though this one is surely going to be a VERY serious program in prime time ANC. Ms. Karmina Constantino fresh from covering news in North America will be trying steadfastly not to laugh and bring you the news straight and fresh from the news room of ABS CBN. Aside from the day's top stories they will also touch with headlines from international news agencies. They will also tackle the best news that the ABSCBN bureaus gathered from Europe, ANZ, North America and elsewhere around the world. Think about the combined experience of Tony and Karmina and you'll surely be mesmerized about what they both can bring to the table. One name... Teodoro "Teddyboy" Locsin Jr. He's that guy you wish you'd become when writing or sarcasm comes to mind. He is a master, I am but a Jedi... and so are other veteran journalists today. I couldn't fathom how smart he is, nor could I contain how great he is in a nutshell. He's evil but one good man too; and I hope you get that. He'll be doing Teditorial which is just a two minute commentary segment on different ANC news programs. He'll give you his views on the greatest news stories and leave you in a "thinking" coma later on. He's one of the greatest this country has ever seen. I'm not joking.

The ABSCBN News Channel has brought you the best... and now this will be a completely revamped lineup of shows for you and me to enjoy. Now is the time for you to see why they are the number one news channel in the Philippines. That ain't bad for 15 years eh?! :)

Some Great Shows at ANC!

The 24 hour news cable channel of ABS CBN is coming up with fresh shows for the discriminating viewers of ANC. I'm part of that bunch; so what better way to start the second half of the year but bringing in Senior Anchor David Celdran on a new season for his show "View from the Top" and noted lawyer Atty. Adel Tamano in a new program called the "Tamano Perspective".

Executive Lifestyle news specifically targeted towards men are but of scarcity in this side of the world and this particular program would definitely put a break to that. Interviews from renowned leaders and icons of their industry will be shown together with the things that they do on off days. Telling all what they actually do on their free time would bring something unconventional and interesting to the table... something definitely worthy to talk about.

David Celdran years ago also hosted famed "Battle of the Brains" (which in my books is the best game show of all time!) also hosts programs such as "Executive Class" and currently the Editor in Chief of VAULT the country's leading lifestyle magazine for men. He wasn't available at that time because of travel commitments in Europe for pegs on his show. View from the Top will be shown on Monday, that's July 11, 2011 at 9:30 P.M.

Meanwhile, Atty. Adel Tamano on his news and current affairs show the "Tamano Perspective" will give people his dose and understanding of the weeks latest news. His analysis of what happened during the week would give his viewers a better take on what really transpired and leave them better informed than if they probably just listened to it from other news programs. He'll carefully explain in lay man's terms how it is going to affect normal Filipinos like you and I. I had the chance to ask a question about what he didn't like about PNOY and what he would do to improve or help him... First thing that came into his mind was about PNOY's smoking habits. He wanted him to stop and be a role model to the youth today. With his experience as a Lawyer, Educator and Advocate I'm sure he won't be encountering any problems doing just that come July 14, 2011 (that's on Thursday!) at 7 P.M. So weather it's intrigues, current events and whatnot he's ready for anything... so watch it on ANC this week!

Mooore Philippine News Rundown!

In Philippine news, here's what's new!

92 percent of people from Metro Manila do not want the RH bill or what we usually call the family planning bill because the Catholic church I guess had influenced their minions to resist this one.

The Department of Trade and Industry just released a suggested retail price list for cement. This includes local and international brands because it apparently has gone over the top in prices. They are planning to control it like local commodities.

Rupert Halmed of Sunday Times UK died of a road side bomb in Afghanistan. Hey that is international news already LOL.

Transport protests were done with the implementation of the RFID that was planned to be installed on all vehicles. LTO is under huge scrutiny because of this.

Lee Van Corteza was able to enter the top 16 players in the Predator Billiard Tour. Hopefully he will enter the finals too. Its been too long since we got an award in this sport we excel in.

2 NPA Rebels were shot dead in Sorsogon, a province in the island of Mindanao. Good job whoever has done that!

A shuffle in the cabinet members happened again yesterday by Malacanang. Duque got the CSC and the undersecretaries got the post for DOH.

2 carnappers shot dead in Quezon City. It's about time to kill those darn people who steal cars!

Prices of bread expected to increase in February. What's new! Almost all prices increased anyway!

Chirs Brown is Recording?? (O_o)

All along there were articles of remorse and thoughts of fixing things but the only thing he's worried about today is recording. Yes ladies and gentlemen, he's not dealing with court lawyers at this time because he's making songs... and lots of it. As if he's getting people to buy it. Oh come on!


He's also on a jet ski diet as he is being seen a couple of times already outside P. Diddy's mansion. He however is not seen with Rihanna but according to news articles he is trying to patch up things with Rihanna. As with people that know what will eventually happen in the future, I fear for Rihanna's life. I'm sure he's going to have to do more than that and get major jailtime to convince me, following their Grammys eve blowup I'm sure he's thinking he's going to get away with it and possibly avoid the lawsuits coming his way.

Chris Brown was seen recording late at night at Miami's famed Hit Factory studio. There has been no sighting of Rihanna at any of the sessions.

The Chris Brown and Rihanna Reunion

I like many of you am outraged about this supposed reunion of Chris Brown and RIHANNA. This was rumored to happen in Sean "P. DIDDY" Combs island mansion in Miami Beach, Florida. It is so huge that you could not see that much inside the property even if you had hovering helicopters or the most powerful paparazzi lenses in the world to get those free pictures.

I would be disappointed if this would just go to them making up and not have someone get jail time because obviously RIHANNA had a better beating than Chris Brown. If you were hit in the face and mouth that hard and you still choose to stay with that kind of man (thinking he's just a boyfriend right?) then you must be sick also. But of course if this is not true, Chris Brown must me doing a lot of negative publicity to tarnish the reputation of RIHANNA. She must then do something about it not just for her but the rest of the women around the world that fall victim to domestic violence. A simple sorry wouldn't cure the wounds he may have inflicted. This is definitely more skin deep.

Chris Brown Gave Rihanna Gifts? O_O

Here I am at my seat wondering and thinking why Rihanna would ever accept anything from Chris Brown on her birthday. There were reported items such as a DIAMOND BRACELET, a NECKLACE and an IPOD Touch. There were also reports that said she accepted it, and she plans to even talk to him. O_O WHAAAT?! After a bludgeoned face, nose and mouth you even want to talk to him?! OMG! That's not what you call LOVE IS BLIND... for me its what you call S2P1D Love... well I guess everyone's going through that but if you already were almost dead for cryin out loud that's just not right.

Well this may be also a plot to make Rihanna to take the blame and bring Chris Brown's career back. I'm not convinced though, but if this were really true I probably ought to give Rihanna a visit and let a professional psychiatrist also look at her. Its a crime to hurt people, let alone celebrities who have lots of fans.

Even so, Happy Birthday Rihanna!

Rihanna today is turning 21, but of course since this horrible event in her life happened it may not be so happy yet. Millions of people were appalled when they saw Rihanna's picture that was posted in TMZ's website. I too am figuring out how can a guy do this to such a god woman as Rihanna. I wish she still could get over this and find a way to put Chris Brown in jail. With bruises on her face and a bludgeoned mouth and nose, I still find it difficult to accept he's still roaming around the US when Rihanna suffered that and almost killed her. Good thing no internal bleeding happened with that severe trauma she got from that event.

Reports from her family say Rihanna remains strong and doing well. I hope they get to celebrate with the family. She deserves a huge rest and probably a consolation of getting Chris in jail for doing that. I am just worried like so many people because if this happened to her, then how about the millions of women in the world. Let me just wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIHANNA!
