Take Wine Guesswork Out at the Happy Living 30th Anniversary Wine Festival!

Sunday, June 02, 2024

Have you ever gone into a wine shop and felt a little lost seeing all the kinds of wine on the rack? Me too. It is so complex, each bottle different and even sourced from a certain country, and certain regions. It's like it has its own personality, you get to know it by flavor, aroma, texture and taste. It also comes in various colors, can be mixed into a concoction. If you're up to it, there's a Wine Festival on June 15th at The Tent in Enderun at McKinley Hill, Taguig. With the theme “A Continuing Journey Across the World's Most Famous Wine Regions and Wineries", their goal is for you to learn how to identify the right one is for you.

This is part of Happy Living's celebration of their 30th Anniversary. They are importers and distributors of over 150 kinds of wines and spirits sourced from all over the world.

Oh it's RED!

When dining, it's always there for a  lot of people. It's got strong, bolder flavors. It's also got tannin that makes it red, and gives it that certain mount feel. The wine festival will feature Arzuaga Reserva 2009 from Ribera del Duero of Spain which has won several awards, and will surely be appreciated at the event!

If you prefer WHITE

Ones I do like, are mostly white, light and bright. This is present in most flavors it gets, some fruity, sweet, a bit acidic especially Sauvignon blanc.

A crisp, elegant, and fresh white wine favorite is  sauvignon blanc, known for its bright acidity with vibrant flavors of fruits such as green apple, lime, and herbs. Sauvignon blanc drinkers are refreshing and expressive, unafraid to express themselves and their preferences. One that will be featured in the Happy Living Wine Festival is Lionel Osmin Villa Côte d'Argent Sauvignon Blanc 2022. It's a region known for being fresh, fruity and aromatic. A bit stronger is the chardonnay, and if you enjoy other flavor profiles, there are a lot of other things you can have on that date.

Certainly Fun Sangria

There's nothing more fruity than a glass of sangria. Try the featured Lolea No1 on ground made from quality Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. With fruits infused, acids and spice, you'll be talking a lot during the event and love the options. Else, get Lolea No2 or Lolea No3 Brut, your Spanish friends would thank you.

If you're raring to go, get tickets via happylivingph.com today. Again, the event will happen on the 15th of June at The TENT at Enderun Colleges. There will be masterclasses available, but only limited seats (go get them while it's hot!). There are also over 150 wines and spirits to try at the venue, and it runs 4PM to 9PM. Get the tickets HERE. This is only for those 18 and older. See you there!

Luxury Living at Bern Baguio by Brittany Corporation

Friday, January 20, 2023

T
he summer capital of the Philippines is Baguio City. With its cold climate, fresh breeze and lovely mountains, one can never discount it to be their home. It's also quite easy to go to if you prefer a change of pace, a change of scenery, you can just hop on to your car and head all the way north.

Living there seems to be a dream but Bern has made it possible. It's a 4 tower condominium development made by the experts at Brittany Corp. The feel is much like Swiss Mountain living, with the luxury of peace and tranquility. They're part of Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. who's the country's largest developer. I'd compare this to their Crosswinds property in Tagaytay which they also did. It's just absolutely incredible to live there and certainly, it's a viable follow up to the successful property.

The plan to also include Alpine ish elements to the project will be the perfect fit for the mountains and pine trees that sprawl the region. They will also be putting up luxurious amenities so you don't have to go out in order to be entertained in the enclave of Bern.

Suites will have panoramic nature views, private balconies, so home owners should choose wisely. The larger 51 square meter corner suites on the other hand would have more space that you can configure to have separation on living spaces and the other rooms. There are 2 bedroom suites you can choose if you've got lots of family so they could have more space to run around, a balcony which you can turn into gardens that can function as indoor and outdoor features exceptionally planned by Brittany.

They will be implementing to have around 4-8 units per floor so there's going to be much privacy. Units are also smart home ready so if you want to implement technology in the near future, it's easier because it's already there. It feels very exclusive and private.

Westerners wouldn't have much to adjust with because they've got jacuzzis, lounges and fire pits if you're planning to roast marshmallows on a cold nippy day. For those who prefer a healthy lifestyle, their gym, sauna, yoga, and Pilates studio are available for use. There's also a game room and view decks so if you're entertaining relatives, friends or guests, you can do them here. For the special occasions, their function rooms can accommodate more people, as it should.

If you love the promise of Bern, there are equally stunning properties that Brittany has like Portofino in Alabang, Lausanne in Tagaytay, Georgia Club in fabulous Sta. Rosa Laguna. There will be more in the near future so if you're in the look for luxury in these locations, visit their site brittany.com.ph or their social channels on FB, IG or YouTube.

Saturday, November 19, 2022

An exemplary company honoring those who work hard and dedicate themselves to bring Brittany Luxury living to those who deserve it, Brittany Corporation just held their Q3 Sales Excellence Awards at the Mella Hotel.

Brittany Corporation's best sales professionals gathered all together in a gala properly entitled "Evergreen", all to honor the best sales pros and teams. During the event, they also announced the new developments in the pipeline including one in Baguio called BERN, plus Forresta which is located Villar Land. They already have acheived a lot with their previous one called Crosswinds in Tagaytay City, which I have been able to visit and stay in a couple of years ago.

They have honored those who have gone above and beyond the already exceptional service they provide and performance during this third quarter. This is welcome news for their employees and agents. They've given a Spotlight Award, Ace Leaderboard Award, the Pinnacle Award, the President's Circle Award and Circle of Excellence Award. They also discussed in the event their sales target for the last quarter so as to strengthen their commitment as the luxury residential arm of Vista Land. Now they have homes, condo units, lots in prime locations around the country. Take your pick from Portofino in Alabang Muntinlupa, La Posada in Sucat Paranaque, Georgia Club at Sta. Rosa Laguna and Crosswinds in Tagaytay.

If this looks and feels interesting for you, make sure you follow their social channels by searching for Brittany Corporation on brittany.com.ph, FB, IG or YouTube as they're all there!

Beko Does OXtra Ordinary Sale

Thursday, February 25, 2021

Oxtra because it's the Year of the OX, that's quite smart for a pun with Beko as they now have put several products on a lesser price. Europe's Number One Appliance brand probably thought it was a good idea to have their stuff marked down so more people can enjoy the best of what they can offer. This happens on top of seasonal sales they do on a regular basis much like in Europe.

For starters, they've got a  (BIM25301X) 60cm Built-in Multifunction Oven with eight cooking functions sold for only Php 19,992, while the (HIMW75225SX) 70cm built-in gas Hob (flat metal shelf) costs Php14,990 which cost about 5K less its regular rate. They also have a (HISW72225SOB) 75cm built-in gas hob that costs Php10,392 and (HISW73225SOB) which is a 75cm built-in gas hob priced at Php11,192. That's 2K less the regular price. They have (RCNT340E50VZP) a 12 cu. ft. no frost fridge sold for Php 27,690 and the (RDNT251I50VS) which is an 8.8 cu. ft top mount no frost refrigerator, which costs Php 17,290. That means they took off 3-4K off its regular price, which is a huge amount of savings. For those who don't like handwashing, they've got the WCV7612X0 which is a front load fully automatic washing machine that can take 7 kilos of cloths.

It only costs Php 24,090 which is almost 4K less the original price. You can also get a FREE Beko vacuum cleaner when you purchase the BDC6C55X which is a 60-c.m. 4 vitro-ceramic hob oven. That costs around Php 46,791 which is about 5K less the original price. They've got a lot of other stuff like vacuum cleaners, front load washing machines, gas and hot plate ranges, grills and range hoods.

Thing is, this will only be until February 28 so if you would like to take advantage of this sale, go check out Beko's official facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bekoph coz it's all there!

Don't say I didn't tell you!

Piolo Pascual Endorses LIVINGWATER on their 13th Year

Wednesday, November 08, 2017

It's been 13 years since they've set up shop and now they've got hundreds of franchisees in the Philippines. I'm sure you've seen one of their branches near you. They are definitely brighter, better and stronger this year helping Filipinos acheive their dreams one water refilling station at a time. This business model has already been lauded because of their low franchise fees and very high demand because the owners knew how much they need to help other people while they are growing their own business. The event was hosted by Tart Carlos and their executives, and they didn't want to end this day without celebrating their 13th year and introducing their newest endorser Piolo Pascual.

Piolo will be the face of the company from hereon, and also have Sarah Geronimo stay as the one who sang their company jingle. They hope they've got the best people to represent their products, they said they won't settle for anything else. Piolo says "I am touched, I am inspired by their story and I'm glad to be part of a premium product that would be available nationwide. I have set up 4 of these refilling stations in the past but now it's only two, I hope I could grow more of it by joining them, I like their business model. Thank you LIVINGWATER for having me as your endorser!"

Beth and Edward Prades were all smiles and said "It doesn't matter how long this journey is, but what matters is who you are with in this journey. Thank you for being beside us all these years. People thought this indistry is saturated and not lucrative, but now you know it still it is profitable. We concentrated on Product, Placement, Promotion, now we have living water refilling stations that serve better water using our technologies not seen anywhere else. Our phenomenal growth is because of our highest standards, the service, the price is affordable and competitive. To serve each Filipino the healthier, cleaner and safer drinking water is our mission. The country needs more, our population is growing still and demand is there. Livingwater is looking forward to double this number all over the Philippines and also expand it's presence overseas. We hope you all continue to be part of our journey!"

Congratulations LIVINGWATER! You're in good company with Piolo Pascual.

New Shared Living Concepts: SPACE in Edsa

Thursday, February 11, 2016

Do you live in the north or way way south? Do you hate traveling distances when all you want to do is go to Makati or nearby offices? Well here's the thing, there's SPACE in Edsa. It's a dormitory type of living right in between Shaw and Pioneer MRT stations. All you need to do is pay Php 4,200, plus one month advanced so you can enjoy living in this hood and enjoy the amenities too. Mind you the place has a working gym inside plus a mess hall where you can entertain guests and commune with other people in the same place.

You have modern keycard access, a room mate matching program so you don't disturb other inhabitants when they have different schedules, and common dining space. The Php 4,200 per month actually is inclusive of Electric and Water Bills so it's like super affordable condo living which you can renew every month. If you're like me who's sick and tired of lining up, fitting in like a sardine inside the MRT everyday, then this might be the perfect place for you. SPACE Edsa is located at 167 Edsa, it's on top of the Major Homes Building in Mandaluyong City. You can also access it via Sierra Madre street in Mandaluyong so you wouldn't miss it. You can call them now at 09188432388 or 09772194070. This is a nice place to live in when you're a student or working nearby. It's also something new, a concept in shared living.

Clean rooms, in 8 or 4 divisions, plus ample amount of shower and comfort rooms, it's all made to be efficient for professionals, students or those who work in the BPO industry.

It's tough and expensive to be stuck in traffic, so live near your office and just go home on weekends. That's a good thing. They are also a legit community, and to note, they haven't been able to experience any security issues, which is  a good thing. You might not be able to cook here but the location is sprawling with restaurants, affordable food choices that could fit any budget. This is also designed for millenials, if you're around the supervisorial/professional ranks in the office, this would be something you definitely want to consider rather than commuting and lose time with traffic. They also plan to put up more locations soon, so just imagine how this would be convenient even for students in the University belt. Aside from that, they're going to have an app based reservation system which you'll see very soon. Open 24/7, visit Space Edsa or their website http://www.space.com.ph.

A Festive Halloween with Philips

Friday, October 30, 2015

It's near and you'll have to make arrangements for that special Halloween celebration with your kids and family. Wondering how to do it without buying the usual stuff in the malls? That's easy if you've got Philips helping you to do it.

If you're a Mom and have Philips’ Airstyler at home, that's one thing you can use for your lovely kids. You can turn them from boring hair to almost evil and wicked witch of the west! Jazz it up with a little face paint and a little effect, you can really scare those neighbors who want to hold on to those precious candies your kids deserve. If you want a more glamorous version, you can opt for the SimplySalon Curler and whip up awesome hair and attract people with a sexy version instead. That's not just for kids, for adults too!

For those who want to throw the greatest but healthiest party, you can do it with the Philips Food Processor. Just go get some fruits like mangoes, kiwi, melon, watermelon, then peel them with a paring knife or just take out the pith. Freeze them for a couple of hours or so then chop them up so it could fit in the opening on the food processors top.Slowly add them in and blitz it for a couple of seconds, spike it with vodka and add a little sugar water, and you have the greatest fruit based punch ever made! I eyeball it most of the time and it's a hit with my friends and relatives. You can do without the vodka though if you would like it to be more healthy, but really, it's a Halloween party and who doesn't like booze right?

For some light snacks, you can buy of your supermarket's frozen section those kilograms worth of French Fries, brush them a little bit of canola oil. The healthier version would be just leaving them as is and putting them into the Philips Airfryer for 10 minutes. Flip it around and do another 10 minutes so you could do the other side. Just remember not to crowd the whole basket in it too much because you won't get that crispy texture on these fries even. Better fries have less oil, not too greasy and yes, cooked perfectly! I opt to put in less salt too so it won't hurt your kidneys.

Don't you think it looks legit already? You don't have to spend a few hundred dollars just to get that perfect look during Holloween, you just need to get a little smarter with  Philips. You may visit www.philips.com.ph or like the Philips Home Living Facebook fan page if you are inching to get your family and friends do the celebrations in a more healthy way this month. I'm sure I do!

TV5 Features Basketball Wives on "Happy Wife, Happy Life!"

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Happy Wife Happy Life
The hosts of Happy Wife, Happy Life!

I think this show's title came from the CEO of TV5 himself. He chuckled a little when he heard it announced on the event that evening. Whoever so not agrees on this statement, will perish of course not have a happy home. Four ladies, who's life has been intertwined by one common denominator, their husbands. Yes, their partners are all professional basketball players. Their successful relationships and families won't survive without the resourcefulness and dedication of these women, who are ultimately just like you at home. They're going to show you the ropes on how to survive, how to make your time useful while you're there. Give you practical home ideas, especially for first time Moms who's probably going through the same phase as they are. When you see the show, they hope you get to connect, because as much as they would like to be different, they are ultimately the same as you.

Happy Wife Happy Life
RR Enriquez and Jeck Maierhoffer

When we talked to Jeck and Rr, they said that they are so blessed that the project was given to them after Amazing Race. They didn't expect it so they were very thankful. They almost didn't accept it because they thought it was going to be a reality show again. We know how that went in Amazing Race where they had a huge fight. They now see that it's different, they see how nice it is. Being with Danica and LJ was also special because they're all Christians. It's clear that it fits Rr because she's single but someday she wants to be like them, married and all. It was the first time when they had to fight during Amazing Race and that wasn't something RR wanted. They realized they couldn't control anything, it was something more of a lesson and she accepts that they're both a work in progress.

Happy Wife Happy Life
LJ Moreno Alapag

Happy Wife Happy Life
Danica Sotto Pingris

They don't want to have that in a show of course. It's also the way they edited it in the show, and how people would perceive it. Rr also thinned a bit, she said she had to lose weight because she has a skin care clinic on the side. The stress and all during Amazing Race actually made it worse she says because sometimes they didn't eat just to get ahead of the others. Actually, their friends know that they are going to butt heads even if they were still not in the race. They expected it but says still, it was fun. The show for them will be segmented. Danica will cook, LJ will give advise on first time moms, Jeck will give business or entrepreneurial advise while Rr will concentrate on beauty. That's what they should watch out in this morning show slated 10:30AM everyday. It's like a magazine show on TV and in the pilot episodes, you'll see our families and have a grand time seeing our lives even before the actual show.

Now that they're all together, you'll see how they will all gel together in this show, their lives on and off the court.

Marjorie Uy Re-Launches LivingMarjorney.com

Thursday, January 15, 2015

This afternoon, I rushed to Greenwich SM North Edsa to be with some blogger friends and Marjorie Uy, author of LivingMarjorney.com. She's turning a new page and introducing a fresher, simpler website that she'll be calling Woman In Digital to replace her former one - so she'd be a but easier to remember, lovelier to campaign for seo purposes too. The rebranding comes after new Digital Marketing Agency Digital Circles will be handling her together with her husband Jonel Uy as the firm's head.

Marjorie says "This has been in the plans for quite a while now and it's just this year that it materialized. You'll see better personal, home and living, lifestyle, events and review posts from me in this new domain. This event was just a simple  thanksgiving for everyone, readers and brands who have been supporting me all these years. We'll probably venture into videos too later on as we get serious about what I enjoy most - all these years of blogging!" and I can't wait to see what's in store for her this 2015!

Congratulations Marj! Cheers to Woman In Digital!

Decisions On Saving, Investments, Land and Property

Monday, June 23, 2014

My short stay last week down south made me think a lot about getting my own place. I could afford it but I'm thinking about some other priorities; and second guessing if it's a worthwhile investment. A condo? A house? It still really bugs me, because the last thing I want to happen is to throw away cash that I've worked hard for.

This goes the same for you guys who are just starting off at work. If you think you live paycheck to paycheck and still couldn't afford saving up for high ticket items such as a car or your own property, think of the things you've purchased that you don't really need. For example, you already have an iPhone but you go ahead and buy an iPad when in fact, you already have the same functions available on both your Apple gadgets. If you go out too much and party after a hard day’s work, think of the amount of money you could have saved than buying a few thousand pesos worth of beer because you think you deserve it every once in a while. You'll come to realize that hangovers and going bankrupt was not in the picture. Then you go to work late the next day and don't perform at par with your workplace standards. Not that I'm making you guilty about it, but I think my point stands. I learned that through the years and I think I did a pretty good job at it. It's a lifestyle change.

When we stop small things like these and save a lot, then we have to decide where to put the money. I got the chance to read an article at Lamudi which already lists down the pros and cons of owning a house versus an apartment. It saved me a lot of time. Then I figured, a condominium unit in a business district like Makati will probably be a better option if things wouldn't materialize. I have so many options to choose from but I thought about the pets, the lawn, the garage and the whole house to manage aside from the property I'd like to buy. I need to simplify my life if I want this to happen. I hope my investments in the stock market and money market yield more than what I hoped for.

What about you guys? Have you thought about where you want your money goes? Let me know!

Healthy Lifestyle Starts with Splenda!

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

If you have been frequenting coffee shops these days, you probably know that there are low sugar options available right? Don't tell me you haven't asked!? Well, here's the thing... they've got Splenda available now and you can actually have it blended with your frappes and hot coffees. At least in one coffee shop I went to did that. I'm not a regular there mind you but just tell them what want to happen with your coffee and poof they make it a whole lot better for you.

It's small things like these that matter. In some way, it's like living a healthy life. It starts from healthy choices and seeing your food intake or the sweets you use for your coffee. It might be a small thing to some but just think about the days you'll live longer when you manage your sugar levels. It's the same concept when you stop smoking. Doctors have researched you get to keep 5 minutes of your life for each stick. So make sure you take time and have the smartness to choose things you take wisely. Imagine how long you could keep your life and spend most of it having fun with friends and family.

Make it a habit to use Splenda. It's got zero calories and takes just a small amount to sweeten your cup. It's something we've had since then, I don't know what would stop us now. Good thing it's available at most big groceries and stores nationwide. Life can really be sweeter... with Splenda!
