RENEWPLUS Medical Aesthetic Clinic Opens at The LORETO Tower in Makati

Saturday, June 14, 2025

Spent the afternoon at the Renewplus Medical Aesthetics clinic over at the 2nd Floor of The Lerato Tower 3 in Malugay, Makati City. As the name suggests, it's a place to get your treatments done. This means a lot, and we got to talk to Dr. Paul Francis Verano about it. He says "Renewplus is about cutting edge treatments and wellness services. It's a place to renew, reimagine and radiate. This is put up by businessman John Bilaos and offers a full line of treatments, laser and body procedures designed to only enhance your natural beauty. We aim to make your beauty goals achieved in a cost effective way."
They conceptualized it in early 2024 since the place needed one. Now together with Dr. Verano's team, they can do what you need to look and feel good. If it's about skin, your body, ears, scars, this place is equipped with the needed tools to get it done fast and safe. Dr. Yap told us a few procedures they do including Hollywood Spectra, laser peels to exfoliate pigmentations in areas you need to clear out. Lutronic Ultra on the other hand resurfaces skin with Thulium Laser, good for uneven skin tones and textures. They also have UltraGlo for the face and neck area, if you've got problems in these areas of sagging. They also do threads. RF microneedling, Coolite Bolt hair removal, and more if needed.

Here's a little tour of the clinic:

Here's a short interview we did with Dr. Paul Francis Verano about the clinic and the services they offer:

Visit them at the 2nd floor of THE LORETO Makati Tower 3. This is in the Malugay area of Makati. If you have skin procedures needed to be done, this is certainly a great place to start. Visit their social channels to inquire or know more about their procedures.

FATIMA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER Announces Availability of ZEISS SMILE PRO Laser Vision Correction

Tuesday, June 03, 2025

Went to far flung Antipolo City at the Fatima University Medical Center. It's a private medical facility and campus for people of Rizal and nearby cities. This has been founded in 1967 and it has grown to give medical services for communities too.

Dr. Vicente Santos MD, DPBO welcomed us and was proud to announce that they are now 6 campuses and 2 hospitals strong. Change is happening and now, they are dubbing their hospital as the home of expert eye care.

They had Kuya Kim Atienza and Vice Mayor Reynaldo San Juan Jr. as guests who congratulated them on a significant milestone for acquiring something big, they call it SMILE. Their doctors explained this new procedure and the difference it makes in surgery.

In a nutshell, it is safer, more precise, this is a flapless laser vision correction using the VISUMAX 800 machine. This is what they use to do incisions, reshape eyes to achieve better vision. Now, they can perform a wide range of correction from -0.75D to -1000D. Doing this is again, minimally invasive, very gentle, and takes 10 seconds of laser ablation per eye. This gives patients short recovery times because of minimal corneal disruption and is suitable for patients with high refractive errors, thin corneas, and dry eyes. This is part of Zeiss Smile technology used in over 10 million eyes worldwide. There are only 2900 doctors/surgeons who can practice this and we're so lucky to have then at the Fatima University Medical Center in Antipolo City.

According to a patient who had undergone it and said "Lasik and Zeiss Smile Pro is different as the latter doesn't have flaps done. The recovery time is better and I can do work the next day. It had no pain. I went to Fatima because my family went here for different procedures and surgeries. My brother underwent Smile 10 years ago and the Smile Pro is better. It is very effective and I trust them."

This is good news for those who need it. This new procedure will benefit a lot of Filipinos who want lower down time, even shorter than getting a hair cut or a dentist appointment. Zeiss Smile Pro can be done for patients 18-50. It is also an out patient procedure where you can to in and out of the clinic. If you want to know more about the Zeiss Smile Pro Laser Vision Correction and what it can do for you, call 02 8291 6583 local 206 or message them on social channels, just search for Fatima University Medical Center on FB and IG.

The procedure is in an introductory offer, approximately 99K for the Smile Pro. Go ask about it!

IP Community Gets Tech and Health Grant on National IP Month

Sunday, December 01, 2024

No one is being left behind as DigiP|us Interactive and Bing0Plus Foundation served 1,800 elderly and IP scholars as part of their steadfast support for their community during National Indigenous Peoples Month. This includes a 2 day medical mission and donation of tablets for the benefit of the Carol-an Indigenous Community in Kabankalan in Negros Occidental (my home province).

This happened in November 20-22 and has benefited over 1,829 Senior Citizens coming from 12 Barangays, and concentrated on eye care, giving checkups, eye glasses and medication. Some cases needed more attention, so they referred them to specialists as well. The also worked with Kabankalan City IP Youth Organization, to say thanks for their elders and their help with their efforts on their culture. This is part of the foundations commitment and to be of service in far flung areas where medical attention is needed. It was also witnessed by Celeste Jovenir, the COO of Bing0Plus Foundation.

They also gave 50 students brand new tablets to use specifically for their education. Beneficiaries were in different levels, all members of the Carol-an IP Community. Jeolina Largardo the President of KaCIPYO thanked the foundation for their generous support and for giving them tools to continue their education. This is just some of the work that the foundation is continuing to make sure the needed healthcare, education will be provided for different IP communities across the Philippines.

Merck Set to Release Fertility Count Scorecard at ASPIRE Congress

Tuesday, June 25, 2024

Population has always been at an all time high in the Philippines, and what better place to launch this new initiative by Merck: a Fertility Count Scorecard. It's also the best time to happen because it was all laid out during the ASPIRE Congress.

The matter has affected everything socially and economically but this counts as something that would encourage policy makers to incentivize those who choose to pro create and build communities especially in emerging economies like ours.

Albeit having a slight reduction in birth rates compared to the past decade, they attribute this dip to fertility preferences and the various programs in population control.

Merck has noted this (our country) as a key market compared to those that are in the Asia Pacific Region. We should realize that the key should be making it sustainable, one that would not inhibit growth and development. Our choices will greatly impact what we need as a society, because as much as we don't admit it, a lot of the developed countries are having problems in workforce and declining birth rates.

For those who don't know, the ASPIRE congress is a place to exchange information especially for those who have a say in decisions that affect a population. This also includes how to provide healthcare and plans on having a manageable birth rate at the end of the day. They also plan to have discussions about it in the event especially for local attendees and regional ones. We are after all, family friendly, and creating a society would be enabling us to implement great policies, and not just lip service.

For Merck to release this Fertility Count Scorecard, it would be quite valuable in a global perspective especially for business leaders or those who plan ahead. The methodology is also a bit more scientific, backed by data, which hopefully would get implemented well. So if you want to know more, just check out the data they have at fertilitycounts.com.

"Push Your Best Self Forward" with Difflam

Thursday, July 06, 2023

Today seems a good day to have a fine voice and remain fruity. Our friends from Difflam lozenges bare good news about a recent clinical study done by University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center showing how the antiseptic throat lozenges alleviated sore throat done on COVID-19 patients. This study was led by Dr. Jennifer Nailes the VP for Research together with a team of medical experts and was done on infected Filipino COVID-19 patients who had sore throats.

Jason Carroll the Managing Director of iNova Pharmaceuticals says "Difflam has been the most doctor prescribed sore throat brand in the Philippines and today in clinical studies with experts in their fields ensure consumers who suffer sore throat pains be taken cared of in this time of a different normal. We hope Difflam can make you pursue your best, welcome to this session."

Dr. Ramon Jason Javier one of the Clinical Investigators presented the paper and says "This research was funded by iNova and hopes to identify the time of total resolution of throat pain in COVID-19 patients. It must have fast action and prolonged sustained effect with the use of over the counter Benzydamine + Cetylpyridiun or Difflam lozenges for patients 12-60 years old. All patients were consulted with their attending doctors through appointments or telemedicine sessions. Patients were instructed to take 1 every 1-2 hours, max 12 per day for 7 days along with prescription medicines. They were instructed to take it until time of no recurrence of odaynophagia. These were 146 subjects, of where 96% of them were also vaccinated, 76.2% of which have no comorbidities. Much of them didn't experience sore throat on the 5th day, of which some getting relief as early as 60 minutes similar with the Difflam Gargle Study."

The gist of this is shorter duration of symptoms, leading to you having less pain, less days in confinement, to eventually go back to normal which is important at this day and age. It's effective, safe and manufactured well (quality). This is an important medical update people should know especially that it has evolved since ECQ was enforced, the vaccine development has been also fast, but we still need to be vigilant, to stay safe, while we do minimum health standards and relax a bit and keep our lifestyle in check every day.

Check out Difflam's social channels for more information about their campaign and see how you can see the Diff and feel the Diff in your home.

AC Health Confirms Expansion Plans for Healthway Medical Network

Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Just got back from the festivities held at the Altaraza Town Center as they made QualiMed San Jose Del Monte a part of the new Healthway Medical Network and named it Healthway Qualimed Hospital - San Jose Del Monte now. They are under AC Health, a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation which thrust is building a healthcare ecosystem that will provide healthcare for all!

We had the chance to talk to AC Health President and CEO Paolo Borromeo where he mentions how they plan to expand into more areas around the country and utilize funding to build, operate medical facilities and clinics to reach and serve even more people, to give medical services that are apt for the location and retrofit, renovate, build new facilities where it's needed. Here's a glimpse of the new Healthway Qualimed Hospital in SJDM Bulacan on video:

Sir Jaime Augusto Zobel De Ayala was there during the occasion and says "I am delighted to be here to be with you. Glad to see Ayala Corporation peers, LGU's all who have been such a big help, thank you for being here. It's an honor to be with you, during the pandemic, SJDM is the first COVID testing center and we had an opportunity to administer vaccines during a very crucial time. Today we celebrate a milestone, with a new name, as Qualimed is now part of Healthway Medical Network, a part of a larger care network. We plan to expand our medical facilities, including clinics in key tour areas around the country. As our ecosystem expands under the Healthway Medical Network, we promise Health Beyond Cure."

Aside from Mr. Ayala and Paolo Borromeo, the Congresswoman, several LGU executives and representatives from the provincial government of Bulacan were there to witness the event. As a way to thank them, they were presented with Healthway Care Cards for their constituents, both for the city and provincial government so if they would need to help people in their locale, they can go to the Healthway QualiMed Hospital in San Jose Del Monte and be attended by talented Doctors, Specialists, Nurses and staff that has made this place what it is today.

Mr. Ayala also thanked them all for the work they have done during and after the pandemic, but mentions it's far from over. He said sorry because he couldn't thank them personally one by one (because of time constraints) but he knows how hard they've worked these past few years as the acquisition of QualiMed by AC Health pushed through. This will be just the start of even more hospitals and clinics that AC Health plans to acquire in the next few years because they plan to invest more in health services as part of their company's goals for the country. So make sure you follow their social channels to know more about their cause.

Congratulations Healthway QualiMed Hospital in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan!

The Need for Extra Protection Against COVID

Monday, January 30, 2023

We've been all cooped up in our homes for the last 3 years but the threat of COVID-19 still exists We are blessed to have frontliners help us during the toughest times, up until now.

Medical Director Dr. Enrico Evangelista says "While we've had so much progress in the last few months, cases are still on a rise. Hopefully this won't overwhelm our health facilities and bar super spreader events. Let's not be lax, one of the things we can do is adding Covidone TS povidine iodine throat sprays so you can protect your oral cavity."

It's an antiseptic and can kill germs. It is also safe to be taken by kids 6 and above. It's also accessible since it is an OTC product.

If you're interested, get Covidone TS in Lazada or Shopee, leading health stores nationwide. Help our frontliners ease their jobs especially when we've got so much health concerns in the country.

Turning NURSES to MOVIESTARS: "SIGLO NG KALINGA" on PNA's Centennial Celebration

Sunday, October 09, 2022

Just got off the MOA signing of "SIGLO NG KALINGA" at the Philippine Nurses Association grounds this evening in Benitez Street in Manila. It was officiated by PNA officials, executives of Dr. Carl Balita Productions (CBP), Director Lemuel Lorca and nurses from around the country. This evening was all about the life of Anastacia Giron Tupas (AGT), the founder of PNA and how they are making headway in producing the film showcasing the dedication, service, passion and professionalism of Filipino nurses worldwide.

Governor Melvin Miranda, the current President of the Philippine Nurses Association says "Thank you to our past Presidents, and to regional leaders present here this evening. When Dr. Balita threw in the idea of doing a film, we were looking on how the life of AGT will be appreciated. Anastacia and her legacy in PNA is inspiring, at this day, we can inspire more Filipino nurses and connect to generations of them, and I'm glad they appreciate our endeavor to hopefully be learned from grassroots level; especially to nurses, and learn our mission and core values. We appreciate the partnership, thank you!"

Dr. Carl Balita also announced that national artist for film RICKY LEE as consultant for the film. For this project, he wants to put together the best of the best in Philippine cinema. He says "I am also considering Rocco Nacino, Kuh Ledesma, Princess Punzalan, Carol Banawa, different artists who are real nurses, and let them do cameos so we can concentrate on nurses we will get in the casting call. Angeli Bayani will be conducting workshops, as she's an internationally acclaimed actress. In other words, I want our nurses to be involved, also in the poster making and theme song writing contest. I believe we have very talented nurses, and we might ask Kuh Ledesma to help us in singing the song. The film will be seen on May 2023, and target international film festivals and I promise you we will have them in different festivals like Sundance, Toronto, and major film festivals. This is the best film I will ever produce, and I'm challenging everyone involved to do their best as well.

Dr. Carl Balita adds "I want this to be a legacy film to be watched by the public so they would understand the heroism involved in our line of work. We need to communicate the call for the cast, we need them to be part of the film. All of whom need to be nurses."

They are doing a casting call specific for nurses 20-60yo, registered who would be available for a shoot (2 weeks straight) with a 5 day acting workshop on October 12-20 from 10am to 12pm and 1-4pm on zoom. They will also be doing a Theme Song and Poster Making contest for the film depicting the work of Filipinos worldwide and the life of Anastacia Giron Tupas, the founder of PNA. MONSOUR DEL ROSARIO Mulls Better Frontliner Benefits

Monday, November 15, 2021

Former Congressman for the 1st District of Makati Monsour del Rosario is running for Senate this 2022. In a recent voter education forum organized with Rotary District 3830, the Taekwondo Champ moved to file stronger policies to benefit our new heroes, the medical frontliners who faced the troubles of the pandemic til now. He quips, a lot of health workers choose to leave the country for a better life. Exemplifying their role during these hard times, he wants to improve their benefits, standardize and increase their salaries.

Monsour Del Rosario says "When I was young, nationalism has been embedded in me and I've had a few terms in public service. I've been exposed to problems in the grassroots, even in sports and movies. I saw what people need, Congress was a big picture, I figured I could do more in the lower house and people told me that I would lose my identity in public service. I went around before I decided to run, I saw how I can contribute and serve in a national scale. I threw the towel and asked them if I can perform as a leader in the Senate. Asking some people in the position, they told me they need the senate hall filled with men of integrity, who loves the country and people, they say I can competently do the job because they know I was always fighting for something bigger. Most people know me as an actor because the reach of the shows and movies I've been in is nationwide. My experience as an athlete, sports leader, councilor and congress bids my kind as a new perspective, something that people are looking for because I love my country. I think I can make a difference."

He adds "I believe our healthcare workers are heroes. This pandemic has opened the eyes of so many people, that they have been so important especially during this pandemic. I would want to file a bill that would get their benefits and salaries be standardized, also have the same benefits as PWD's, Senior Citizens, also with their family. I know so many professionals who have undergone training different fields but have done so good in public service. We have seen in the country that some who don't actually tell honestly that they can't. The challenge is there, and I am ready for it."

Needless to say, I was impressed how he wasn't like the run of the mill politician who would read off papers about what he wanted to say. He came across knowledgeable, confident, paid close attention to the cause he wants to further rally for. The opportunity to serve in a national scale is something that he'd want to do and rightfully so, because his eagerness to be of service to a sector that's done a remarkable lot of men and women in the healthcare industry deserve it. If you would want to know more about his work, visit his official site https://monsourdelrosario.com or his social channels.

Thyroid Care and How To Walk The Healthy Path

Friday, October 08, 2021

Checking your Thyroid (image from Mercgroup website)

Thyroid disease has been in my Father's side of the family for generations. According to health some studies, there's a greater likelihood that problems with it is somewhat hereditary. Early signs include digestive problems, mood swings, weight fluctuations, skin issues, difficulty in changing weather, vision probs, hair loss or memory problems. It can be caused by your thyroid having difficulties in making the right amount of hormones that will keep your body from functioning normally. If it's causing your body to use energy quickly, it's hyperthyroidism. If it doesn't do it much, it can easily make you tired, gain weight and not stand the cold weather. There are a lot of people affected by thyroid disease and anyone, of any age, can be a part of that statistic.

In a recent event I attended about Thyroid Care: Walking the Healthy Path, Dr. Nemencio Nicodemus Jr. who currently is the President of the Philippine Thyroid Association says "The country has seen a rise in Thyroid disease since 1993 including goiter. It happens more than that of diabetes, which is about 9 out of 100."

They also stated a WHO study that indicates that it's the 7th most common cancer type in the country next to cervical cancer. Leading pharmaceutical company Merck hosted the event. Dr. Adrian Fernando of the Head and Neck Unit of Benavides Cancer Institute at the UST Hospital says "The rise in Thyroid Cancer cases is attributed mostly to genetics. It is also caused by increasingly unhealthy lifestyle. We need to make everyone aware and improve the current cancer registry so we can implement management guidelines."

We learned that most of these thyroid disorders though can actually be treated especially if they are detected at an early stage. This is done by medically supervised head and neck exams and using ultrasound for the thyroid area. If you have lumps or nodules in this place, it may lead to cancer so it's best to consult a doctor if you see any issues. They could conduct blood tests and check for abnormal amount of T4/T3 hormones. Henry Wilson, the President and Managing Director for Healthcare at Merck says "Our research and development efforts are funded well and is capable of creating the best medicines and treatments for thyroid disease. You can start taking care of yourself by living a healthy lifestyle, eating iodine rich food. Start with fish, dairy, and lessen radiation (your exposure to it).

If you want to know more about Thyroid care, they have put up lots of information on their Umansking Your Thyroid Facebook page. They also suggest you to visit Thyroid.ph and thyroidaware.com if you need to check for symptoms, there's a lot of resources on these sites. As doctors say, you should always seek doctors advise, they've studied years for it so you get professional help.

It was a good day to learn about thyroid health.

Cardinal Santos Medical Center: The Good Things About Minimally Invasive Surgery

Saturday, February 06, 2021

I am part of the population of Filipinos who would  never want to undergo surgery. It creeps me out, and those medical series produced in the US doesn't really help especially if there are very graphic images which I'm sure real doctors are quite used to. They're real heroes, even at the time of the pandemic they're at the hospitals and are making sure the medical needs of Filipinos are sufficiently given. It's a noble profession.

With the advancements in technology, we now have a choice. The Cardinal Santos Medical Center earlier held a webinar and press conference to tell us about the wonders of Minimally Invasive Surgery. In the past, it would take a lot of effort to operate on people especially in the torso. Hospitals across the country already use this technology but not all have been educating ordinary joes. CSMC knows how it is vital to inform the public of the procedure as it is better than the old ways. This webinar was entitled as "Why Less Is More: 10 Things To Know About Minimally Invasive Surgery."

Distinguished men and women who spoke at the webinar include Dr. Alfred Allen Buenafe the Executive Director of Cardinal Santos Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery (the prime MIS training center in the Philippines) , Dr Zenaida Javier-Uy who is the Chief Medical Officer, and Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao the Senior Consultant and General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon of Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore.

Dr. Buenafe pointed out the goodness of doing laparoscopic surgery and says “It helps diagnose a wide range of conditions that develop inside the abdomen or pelvis. It does it through direct visualization of the affected organs. Surgical procedures like removing a diseased organ like a gallbladder, or collecting tissue samples for testing or biopsy can now be easy.”

Dr. Rao supported this and says "Doing minimal invasive surgery gets similar or even better results. The trauma on the human body is less so recovery is much faster."

During the event, several patients who have undergone the procedure also gave their testimonies, of which mostly all healed faster than what is predicted. Cardinal Santos Medical Center wants this to be more accessible to Filipinos, starting with the Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery Training Center so more people can have access to world-class training here in the country.

You've Got to Try DEFENSIL

Friday, December 18, 2020

I've never seen one of these in stores near our house so I was kinda skeptic seeing this for the first time. During the pandemic, we all needed one of these and I was specifically looking for one that is 70% solution and is in a spray bottle. They all answered my prayers. My friends online couldn't stop raving about how convenient it is to actually own one, then when I got hold of them myself, I immediately understood why they had so much to say about a bottle.

First of all, DEFENSIL smells nice. It's not overpowering, or dries skin. Best feature for me is the actual bottle because it's so handy to spray on surfaces or packages which I have a lot of at home. So in  a nutshell, it's efficient and I've never seen anyone say that with a bottle of alcohol right? But fear not, I think they've worked a lot in these past few months to supply markets with these bottles and spray containers that proved to be a hit at home. Add to that, they're actually getting their own brand ambassadors to not just endorse that brand, but to show how it actually applies in a family. It takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez and yes, they got Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati and their kids Zion and Kai to tell their story.

Just like you, Richard and Sarah had to find ways to make their homes germ free to protect their kids and their whole family. In this pandemic, we receive packages, touch doors, handles, cars, sign documents, which means there's always a threat from germs and viruses. Sarah always makes it a point to sanitize at home which is why they trust Defensil. It's 70 percent Solution Isopropyl Alcohol and has moisturizer in them so it won't dry your skin. They needed to do it quite frequently these days because of obvious reasons. They have confidence that it kills 99.9% of common germs and bacteria, hypoallergenic and keep things safe at home. Holidays will surely still feel special and they won't worry that much because they've got Defensil by their side.

You too can know more about their family and what Defensil can do for you via their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/defensil.philippines. It's time you get to know more about it, because so far, I've been enjoying Defensil in the spray bottle, kept it too when it gets spent and just refilled it with a bottle.

You've got to try it!

The Philippines on Medical Malpractice

Sunday, September 13, 2020

In this time of pandemic, we have seen a lot of people struggle to go to clinics, hospitals to receive medical care. Since most hospitals are at full capacity, we see people sometimes been referred to other institutions, or flat out just give up or go back home because most of the time, they won’t be able to receive the care they need due to the lack of medical personnel. Understandable in some cases, but every Filipino should always have the care they need in times of emergency. The right and proper care with the safety of the patient in mind, and also the front liners, medical professionals who literally life and limb are out there for us every single day. Quality of work should never be sacrificed either because the last thing we would want is to have to suffer both on the patient’s side and the attending medical pro.  Medical malpractice is no joking matter and ultimately, we are talking about lives here. Aside from that, most medical personnel in the Philippines actually don’t have malpractice insurance. In the US, it is also referred to as professional liability insurance and some states do require it.

Claims for this kind of insurance can be made against a clinician when negligence is alleged in the conduct of their professional activities like medical care. It is typically unique to physicians/doctors because if patients say they incur any additional expense or future hospitalization brought about the alleged malpractice, that is its main function. That could include loss of income because they would not be able to work anymore, also pain and suffering, or in some cases, if they pass away. Sometimes, it may include defense coverages that if in case you get involved in a lawsuit, they cover expenses all throughout the defense of the case. Aside from that, some products cover cyber liability cases wherein if in case there is a breach of confidentiality between patient-doctor relationships, they will also cover that too. It could be the doctor who is covered or the actual practice (for example you have a clinic and employ people included there) and they could be covered with that as well.

Having that said, do you think medical malpractice exists in the country? I feel so. With the numerous incidents and stories seen on media wherein patients are not attended to, given proper medical care, the right prescription which results later on to incur disabilities, additional medical costs, and medical fees, who would pay for that? Most often than not, people take a blindsided approach which would be detrimental to the patient and the physician as well. This is why, there should be institutions that would cover this and I’m glad there are several of them now in the Philippines. Although if I were to ask of who is the best medical malpractice insurance in the country, that would be a small list. It’s all about experience and ease of getting coverage. Pricing is also different with shared or individual coverages, and how much of it is needed. It may be dictated by laws, it can be dictated that or simply advised by professionals. I hope things will be better soon, because both patients and medical professionals need protection like that. I prefer my premiums be low just like any regular joe because it might be a burden to an already very costly monthly bill we all get right?

I hope policies become very easy to understand and a lot of people get to know things that can protect them, their lives and livelihood as well. The country should do headway in protecting our rights, because that is a very important matter.

Providence Hospital Acquires New Cath Lab Equipments

Tuesday, May 08, 2018

I've been visiting a few friends in this hospital, it's the newest if I'm not mistaken. This morning was great at Providence Hospital as they launch their new Cathlab. It's a room intended for the examination and diagnostic imaging of the arteries of the heart so they can find any abnormalities and help fix it. There are a lot of patients who need this especially those with history and it's not available anywhere, so this is a welcome development in this side of Quezon City.

They did ceremonies at the Providence Hospital Lobby and blessing followed suit. It will service not just the city but other nearby communities as the hospital gears for continued expansion in the coming years. Now, angiograms, angioplasty, catheterization and other related procedures would be done in the hospital with ease because of these newly acquired equipment from world renowned brand GE Health.

They have dedicated rooms for recovery, for management, for their imaging equipment and a locker room for medical staff.

The event was graced by Dr. Rafael Bantayan Jr. their Medical Director, Dr. Dave Tan, the CEO and President of Providence Hospital, Head of Cardian Cath Lab Dr. Alvin Dela Cruz, Head of Cardiovascular Surgery Dr. Bernard Baluga, Head of Cardiology Dr. Rosalinda Dizon, Dr. Freman Cerezo the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Dr. Jan Denton Chua the CEO of HB Calleja Heart Institute. They also had Ben Tulfo and DOH Secretary Maria Fracia Laxamana as guest speakers for the event.

Dr. Bantayan says "Today Providence takes a big step forward and with your help and prayers it will be a successful one."

Congratulations Providence Hospital! Thank you for keeping the people of Quezon City healthy!
