Good Reasons to watch Heart Evangelista's "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon"

Monday, December 06, 2021

Looks like the much awaited I Left My Heart in Sorsogon series has not disappointed fans as it started not only with a good story, but a throng of characters that are quite interesting. For starters, this is Heart Evangelista's biggest comeback in primetime and by any standards, you could really see how she fits the role of Celeste Estrellado-Wenceslao. Celeste is a fashion designer who made a name in New York and came back to Manila. Like normal neighborhoods in Manila, there's actual gossiping, rumor mongering, bashers before her fashion show started. She also was figuring out how this would catapult who she is in Asia.

If I were not informed, I'd mistake this to be a movie because of the painstaking process of angles and effects they put into it. Not only that, each individual character had their own designer clothes in tow, so no one in their right mind came out silly, even the villains. Part of the show had heartwarming scenes because Celeste dedicated it to her Mom who passed. She leaves a single front seat for her every time she does a show.

Celeste is also going to have a go with relationships, that's where Paolo Contis and Richard Yap comes in. You'll be hooked with how they played with the dynamics of the different characters they played in the series, just hearing the stars playing it won't do justice, watch it because they've got the shows online in full episodes. If you miss one, just hop on GMANetwork.com for it. Aside from the main characters, Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara will be showing how they can spark romance. They also shot it fully in Sorsogon, so be aware how you would get the province in its purest form, its people, and the lovely sights you could see there.

You also won't know who's good and bad. You don't have to believe me, watch the episodes today!

Jodi, Robin, Richard in New Afternoon Show Before Showtime

Sunday, January 28, 2018

Leo, Martin, Mona and Lisa. These are just names to you now but as soon as it airs on ABSCBN this coming Monday, you’ll love each of their characters as portrayed by Robin Padilla, Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria. This is called SANA DALAWA ANG PUSO (I wish I had 2 hearts) and will be the afternoon offering right before Showtime on the kapamilya channel.

Robin plays Leo, a man who takes odd jobs for a living. Although poor, falls madly in love with rich beauty diva Lisa of the Loriano Group of Companies (played by Jodi)... who was in a supposed arranged marriage with Martin Co who later finds himself a poor barrio girl who looks exactly like Lisa but is named Mona, a chicken farmer. Will their lives intertwine? Will love be good for these four people? How are they related? You have to watch the first episode tomorrow on ABSCBN.

Jodi says “I am personally very excited to see this, this is fun, you’ll learn a lot of things, sometimes very romantic and I hope you get to watch it. The postponement had nothing to do with Robin but our creative team had to do revisions with the script and characters. We were not ready yet last August but this is good now. There will be 4 characters tomorrow and I believe they will be in love with Martin and Leo, you can’t compare then because they have different stories that should be appreciated by people.”

Richard Yap adds “We have been gone for a while but I hope people would go back to this time slot, hopefully the same people who watched us will get to see us again. My character is different now, I had to reinvent myself to be this character, I have long lines and I should have asked something like a man of few words like Robin.”

Robin says “To belong here is really but an honor for me, I am a fan of their show in the past and now I’m with them in the series. ABSCBN was a bit behind schedule and our schedules got mixed up between this and a movie we tried to make in between. They are bringing in a show about love, so it’s light and very Filipino. It was just a matter of timing I guess. My two movies were postponed (by Vidanes) and we did this instead. I asked ABSCBN to just make my character to be as close as possible with me, they agreed.”

The show also stars Christopher De Leon, Bobot Mortiz, Alma Moreno, Nikki Valdez, Bayani Agbayani, Ryan Bang, Ylona Garcia, Buboy Garrovillo, Kitkat Favia, and a whole lot more. Again it starts tomorrow January 29 after showtime!

Consider Watching "Chinoy: Mano Po 7"

Thursday, December 15, 2016

I've seen the movie a couple of days ago and it has exceeded my expectations. This is primarily a family drama, so you can expect conflicts from the parents with their children. Aside from that, the remarkable performance of Enchong Dee should be noted. He's a furball who you hate in one scene, then want to hug and caress on other scenes.

I have also been fascinated about the Marnella love team, I actually like them a lot. Although the movie didn't tackle so much about their relationship, it was cute and should be seen. There are going to be interesting conflicts between Janella and Kean Cipriano though that would be something of interest, but only adults should see it.

Richard Yap plays a cold father, so it would be interesting to see how he would handle his own problems, when he lived like that all his Chinoy life. They would explain why he is that way later on though. Ms. Jean Garcia was also on her element. She had to go through hardships and even got romantic with other men. How would a cold man resolve that? The movie will tell you.

Here's a short video interview with Enchong Dee right after the premier. Some snippets too. Enjoy!

I would really want you to watch this in theaters nationwide. Worthy to watch! Don't be afraid to cry though because you might just do that in some of the scenes especially with Jean Garcia.

CHINOY: Mano Po 7

Tuesday, December 06, 2016

They might have been snubbed during the MMFF but they're surely going to be an interesting to watch this December 14 in theaters nationwide. MANO PO 7 CHINOY is another installment of the famous "Mano Po"series under the Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde and her dauhter Ms. Roselle Monteverde's outfit. This year, they got Filipino Chinese actor Richard Yap, Jean Garcia, Enchong Dee, Janella Salvador and Jana Agoncillo.

In this film, Richard Yap will play a very protective businessman that is always on his toes making sure all his Filipino Chinese ways would be followed by his family. We were actually in one of the scenes too where Enchong Dee who played the black sheep son, sunddenly went on a rampage while they were being introduced to the Chinoy community. This will tell you more about how most Filipino Chinese families in the Philippines still employ the same old chinese traditions but finds it difficult now that they are getting into relationships with Filipinos. They shot most of the scenes in Taiwan and will fulfill the promise of presenting how it causes family problems and rifts in modern times.

This is another powerful drama about a family that hopes for love, tries so hard to find how they could weather the hardships of culture and differences and still get the family together.

Richard Poon and Richard Yap: The Chinito Crooners

Tuesday, August 02, 2016

It looks like the Moms and not so Moms are gonna have a grand time on August 26, 2016, 8PM at the Theater at Solaire. It's called RICHARD X RICHARD The Chinito Crooners: A Salute to Classic Lovesongs. They have both been admired in their respective fields and it's about time Richard Yap actually does another thing that he loves which is singing. Richard Poon on the other hand is excited because he'll get to sing not so popular songs but classic ones, which most of the organizers even liked when they conceptualized it. Richard Poon also wanted to support Richard Yap as this is his first time to go out as a singer, which the former encouraged him to do a long time ago.

Richard Poon also joked about stealing the audience of Richard Yap as he noticed most of the moms were in the VIP section in a gig they did a while back. They are still arranging guests, hopefully they could bring JK, Bailey, Jody Sta. Maria, Maricar Poon in the concert but they are still confirming it.

This was pitched to them a year ago by Richard Poon's manager. They thought about it and agreed to it a couple of months ago. As for the genre of songs, Richard Poon knows how it is a little difficult to combine what they're doing. Richard Yap mostly does love songs in the 80's and 90's while Richard Poon does standards even in the 50's and he knows he had to adjust a little on the POP side because of it. During the presscon, they had delved a little about politics and bashers online but some have valid answers, so they do talk. Anyway, they will be showcasing what they have in the lineup and you should be excited! They're also launching an album, hopefully before the said date and it will be also a collaboration. They also have half of the playlist already recorded and hopefully be out very soon! They're trying to revive and get the songs be interesting so the younger audience appreciates it.

Again, it will be at The Theater at Solaire in Pasay City this August 26, 2016. Tickets available at Ticketworld.com.ph or call 8919999 today!

Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap for The Achy Breaky Hearts

Sunday, June 19, 2016

We're at The Achy Breaky Hearts intimate presscon today with Team Chinoy Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. The two have been very busy promoting their movie and I'm excited too as tje pairings are my families favorite.

Jody mentioned "Ian and Richard are a joy to work with, but I think I'm really close to both of them. It doesn't matter of they are married, I'm okay with that because there's no alterior motive. I love working with them. Direk always asks us about our opinions, Chinggay has been single for years and she's been heartbroken so when Frank came back she was more careful, she was also taking in consideration a new love and the previous guy she was with. That's where the story will spin. Now that it's Fathers day, I will give Richard care and concern ha-ha! I haven't reallt gone through a stage where I got to be courted ny two good looking guys. There are some scenes where I got to connect with Chinggay, about relationships, about a new guy. I always give chances, no regrets on my decisions, I know it will only make me wiser and stronger as a woman. This is our profession, but unlike what people know, we study our characters and we become effective portraying roles because of that. We alsp consult each other to make the scenes realistic. We know how to react because we did our homework. I know they are married and I respect them individually, it's better for me because I can make sumbong if ever ha-ha! We share the same standby area for 2 years, so it was just normal to be close. The last thing I want to happen is for real Team Tisoys and Team Chinoys to actually be divisive, and they made the story light and you'll understand in the story how it's going to make both of the guys end in good terms. If there's someone to pair with you, we have to make them believe the character, to the love story. Chinggay is guarded, but open with the other. They really pursued her and they showed their intentions. Chinggay liked that."

Richard Yap says "When we're working, we get into the story. We've also gone through wrongdoing, the faults in our relationship. This new one is something that should be perfect, that's what we want to do. I think Ian and I have dofferent levels of expertise and he's really good in drama but I don't want to compare and I'll leave that to the audience. I can relate to the guy, my character, because before I got married we broke up but when we got back together I knew for sure that I'll marry Mrs.Chen. It's the cooperation of everybody, we study our characters so it looks real in camera. When we started out, we didn't know each other and through time, we developed our friendship. We have common interests, mutual trust and respect came later on. We both know each other's moods, we already know when and not to disturb each other. Jodi is so attractive, but we have our limits, and we're professinals and we must keep it that way. "

The movie will premier on June 29 and is Directed by Tonette Jadaone. This is produced by Star Cinema.

Birch Tree Fortified and DECS Launches "Me and My Milk"

Thursday, July 23, 2015

Birch Tree has been the go to brand of milk by Filipinos for ages and in simple ceremonies at the Department of Education in Meralco Avenue, Pasig City they just launched "Me and My Milk" which is an advocacy program of their brand Birch Tree Fortified. Their aim is to improve nutrition not just at home, their schools, but the whole community.

Witnessing this occasion was the star of hit afternoon TV show Be Careful With My Heart, the one and only Richard Yap together with child star Mutya Orquia.

Melinda Legaspi, CEO of Merylindbert International says "This is another milestone, you are all witnesses to this great partnership. We have passion for education and yearning for knowledge, there are a lot of people who worked hard for this advocacy and we thank you for that. Delegates from Laguna, Bataan, Bulacan, Batangas and other places are here, we humbly welcome you.

Erwin Africa GM of Snow Mountain Dairy Corporation adds "Education is not just feeding minds, but also feeding a strong healthy body. Milk is for the young, and young at heart, its good for everyone but in the Philippines we fortunately are under the daily consumption of milk compared with our Asian neighbors. We will have this educational program to encourage children to eat healthy so they get the right nutrition. Initially it will be in Luzon, and will involve the parents and community too. Some students will be given milk to start a great milk drinking habit."

Senior Product Manager of Birch Tree Fortified Lea Macalincag introduced their new brand ambassadors Richard and Mutya, proudly even singing a jingle and another song for the delighted crowd.
Undersecretary Dina Ocampo of the Department of Education thanked everyone who has been part of the program and wished them all success. It's something definitely worthy to celebrate about since this will benefit thousands of children all over the country. It's a step to the right direction and it doesn't stop there. You can do it too right in the comfort of your homes since Birch Tree Fortified is available in leading drug stores, supermarts and groceries. You just have to drink milk, especially if you lost the habit.

Ciao!

Enchong Dee and Richard Yap For Wansapanataym Presents: My Kung Fu Chinito

Saturday, June 20, 2015

Seeing Enchong Dee and Sir Chief on TV is probably a dream for most of their fans. As you may understand, they haven't been on the boobtube for quite while and the notion of them being together in one project seems a little far fetched. ABSCBN probably thought of the Chinese lineage before they made arrangements to create a new Wansapanataym series for Richard and Enchong. This is entitled My Kung Fu Chinito and hearing them talk about it during the press launch, they seem really excited about it.

Dreamscape announced that Someone to watch Over Me will be put on hold because the queen of soap operas Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo is pregnant. That project is together with Richard Yap and he'll wait until she becomes able to do it again, in the meantime they will have another project with Richard Yap so he's going to be very busy in the next few months.

Richard knows how to do martial arts and Enchong had to train for it. Although he did some action scenes before, this would require him to fight and use harness. It was pretty hard to do this because they're jumping like superheroes. Wushu is Chinese Kung Fu, and they're pretty much going to do this along with the fantasy sequences according to the director. Almost 80 percent of the cast is Filipino Chinese. They made a casting just for this project. This is also the first time Richard is working with Enchong. Even if he doesn't know how to do Wushu, he seemed pretty great at it because he dances. So the flexing moves, it was easy for him. It looked even better on screen because he knows how to move. Enchong on the other hand mentions that Richard is a jokester on set, they laugh profusely before a scene and sometimes Enchong feels that people always takes Richard seriously when he is actually funny in real life.

The story revolves around a matured super hero wanting to transfer his duties and responsibilities to a young man played by Enchong and he had to train hard so he could become one. Enchong also adds that he's not been able to appear that much on TV because he had to concentrate on his album which is now gold. In My Kung Fu Chinito, it's going to be a little dramatic in the next few months. You'll know and understand where he's going to come from because that's where the story is heading in the first few episodes. There is pressure to make this a good and be at par with Yamashita Treasures which had good ratings. This is going to be a little epic, grounded on reality and on a present time setup. You'll understand how these people become who they are before they divulge themselves as superheroes. Enchong wanted to be Lastikman once because people who have done it got immortalized and this is the same thing he wanted to happen with My Kung Fu  Chinito. Hopefully the future Kung Fu Chinito will have to own the medallion that he'll be receiving from Richard Yap in this show. The scenes are really hard, they also had to work even if they're hurt since the scenes are very hard to do as it's choreographed by David Chua, a professional stunt coordinator.

Kung Fu Chinito WattpadKung Fu Chinito WattpadKung Fu Chinito WattpadKung Fu Chinito Wattpad

Ms. Mari Lamasan wrote the script and it's an original concept, this is directed by Erick Salud. They were initially doing a love story but since they needed to make a character out of it, they made it into something like a reluctant hero instead. They just followed how the story would evolve on the script, eventually they almost didn't need a love interest because the characters themselves already had a story to tell. You'll really love how My Kung Fu Chinito will turn out to be a well loved superhero, especially for the kids! Richard's character will also be bearing revenge while Enchong will be just loving the fact that he's going to be handling the responsibility of being an icon. He proudly says he wants to be one. He wants Kung Fu Chinito to be remembered like that. The director is also aware and very careful not to anger anyone in the Chinese community, and Richard Yap says most Filipino Chinese are not in agreement with what China is doing but it's really up to governments to talk. Rest assured, everything in the project is just feel good. Enchong added, My Kung Fu Chinito is also about bullying and how people should not do it for the wrong or right reasons.
