A Week of Love, War, Flying and Shooting

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

I wasn't depressed but I posted a Facebook status this evening that was liked by a lot of people. It was about when someone makes you feel special and leaves you behind. Then you just play dumb and act like you are not affected. I was surprised why a lot of them felt the same way. To say the least the same people who reacted violently to that statement were such strong people. I couldn't believe they would someday be like that... not in a million years but there they were acting like normal people. Some of them even mushier than I thought they would be.

Egypt has been so crazy these past few weeks. I worry for the people just as I worry about all those historic relics in their museums. If looters came in and destroyed that it would be really so sad for the whole world history community. Is there such a thing? Well anyway, just as long as there wouldn't be anything wrong that will happen to them it's all good. I hope they know how to manage that.

Our own airports NAIA 1 2 and 3 were mentioned in a blog post by Ms C of Chuvaness.com and there was a bit there when they wrote the general manager about the things that could be improved and SHOULD BE IMPROVED in our airports. Unfortunately the clueless General who probably never lines up like the rest of us just shrugged it off and said some of them weren't true and cleared obviously things like getting the restrooms fixed. They said it takes weeks when in fact it can only take days to do that. I wonder who told him that fact... someone must be sleeping when God was raining out common sense. Sheesh!

Anyway, it was back to photoshoots for me this weekend and what can I say... I wasn't dissappointed because the photos I shot came out great. I have my handy dandy 35mm to thank for these things. Of course I have to thank my bros from SHUTTERPILLOW photographers for making this comeback a huge hit! Photos will be up this weekend! =)

Thanks for reading... I know, its boring hehehe!

(bts shot from Jay Niduaza, thanks!)

Twitter Wars: @PilyangSweet and @SGeronimo25

Sunday, December 12, 2010

I love twitter wars. When celebrities turn on each other and show their true colors. It is somewhat bitter sweet when you both adore them but the backlashes of words are so amusing! Here's the story:

It looks like there was a short exchange of jokes in the rehearsals of ASAP XV. It probably was meant as a joke between the stars Sarah Geronimo and John Pratts because of their (Sarah and Christine) former love interest Rayver Cruz. The bad news is, Christine Reyes found out about it because it was said while Sarah was on the microphone. This made Christine flare up hence this series of tweets.

Maybe after seeing her tweets on this event, their Manager reacts like this:

Which probably means she is on the side of Sarah (Maybe because she earns more hehe)

And their manager says:

Christine Reyes, as outspoken as she has always been answers back their Manager:

And so the twitter wars go on. Make sure you follow @pilyangsweet for more updates. I'm sure she'll tell you all about it! Ha-ha!

WAR: North Korea, South Korea, US, China, Philippines

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

I know you guys may have been wondering why I'm actually not in the mood to post today. To tell you the truth I'm not 100% okay. I just had dental surgery (to the point of drilling parts of my jawbone) and it is crippling me from going places. I can't even think straight because the pain is excruciating. I hope with the stitches gone it'll heal faster. Now off to some serious matters.

I watched this particular video from CNN. I know the region has been quite nervous from the exchange of words and missile launched by the North but what do you think will happen to us when war breaks? Are you nervous as I am? Maybe not but here are some scenarios that I'm trying not to see when the time comes:

* When war breaks, China will go to the defense of North Korea and US will back up South Korea. They'll both launch nuclear weapons and will spark a bigger war with China and the US. When North Korea becomes dust, the huge smoke and radiation will cover half the globe including the Philippines. No sun, acid rain, we'll all die from it.

*When North Korea wins, they'll conquer South Korea and continue to launch missiles to Japan, skip Taiwan (because they won't hurt the Chinese) then the Philippines. The north Korean soldiers will kill us all when they get here and there will be more like a death march. A lot of us would hold bolos again because of the lack of artillery and weapons. We'll look like weaklings. We'll also get our own share of nuclear missiles from them. Generous eh?!

*When South Korea wins, they'll conquer the North Korean side and push all their military there. They will also push to the boundary of China. China will be nervous because US might infiltrate them and another war will break from that small war. Nuclear arsenal will still be launched from both sides. No one will listen to the UN and we'll all starve to death.

Call me morbid but it might happen to us! This is no joking matter... what will you do if all hell breaks loose?

The Games Awesome People Play

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Do you want to see what's keeping me busy at home? If I have free time and choose to chill around the house I try a lot of games on the Internet. I'd like to recommend a couple of them here so you'd get to enjoy what I've been playing all day long. It's quite easy and you don't need to install anything just as long as you have flash enabled on your browsers. Have you ever played boxhead2? If not then you are going to have so much fun playing as the swashbuckling box equivalent of your heroes in the silver screen. You can choose between them and try every possible way to defeat enemies as they try to hit you and shoot back. If you see the boss just make sure you don't get to cocky and feel invincible because you'll die for sure! It takes a couple of hits to do so and it isn't a good thing to repeat everything when you are almost there!

How about playing this other one called age of war? You would surely be the envy of your friends if they saw you playing this great offense/defense strategy game. When I showed it to them they immediately grabbed their laptop computers and tried to outrank me! Of course they are going to have a hard time doing that because I've conquered a lot of levels already! You'd be so powerful you can cast a special spell and have meteors swarm over your enemy. It's really a treat to see! Make sure you also get your web master friends to check them out soon because there are opportunities on blogging for money with our friends on YOUSAYTOO.COM! They'll generate traffic, get more readers and share their articles on line fast and efficient. That's just way too fun!

When you get to play let me know your scores okay?!

A Truly Noble Profession

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Being in the medical profession is a very noble job. That makes me think; almost all my cousins are care givers, nurses or doctors. It has been like a trend I guess and I wouldn't blame them because this has been in demand for years now. The aged population for the US, Japan and Europe increased over the decade; and since we supplied medical workers for these countries the medical assistants position has been in dire need too. Since it has been in demand, the chances of getting a job are easy and special assistants for medical specialists are a must.

The medical assistant course can be also achieved through on line programs. In as little as 6 to 8 weeks you can go through the normal procedure of learning on line and taking the exam for this profession through institutions like St. Augustine School of Medical Assistants. There are a lot of people already taking up this course which is quite new to medical professionals in this side of the world. I am optimistic that pretty soon we would be able to also fill up the need for the medical assistant position and still lead in terms of quality in the labor force wherever we may be in the world. I am proud that my family has been part of this industry since the 1940's and helped a lot of people as nurses and doctors for the UN, International Red Cross and Doctors without Borders. I hope I would be able to help too in the near future. It will be in my own little way!

The Real Freedom

Thursday, July 02, 2009

The world has been full of wars in its quest for ultimate freedom. Every country, race and nationality succumbs to the thought of having their people in a free state. I was moved when I watched a Political Activist Video about a young man who tore apart his own passport in India and declared himself free from the bondage society makes. In a civilized world, we are all bound to the country we live in and only thrive within its laws because it is the norm. We conform to what our forefathers have agreed upon in the past and live to each standard that was made as the laws of the land. But then where is the freedom they asked for? Where is the freedom they all fought for?

I ask this question myself every now and then but to tell you the truth, the answer is pretty hard to digest. It all boils down to answer questions "HOW" we could achieve freedom. It is a tall order for ordinary people I know because like you in the US or people like me in the Philippines, we all have our stories and struggles on how we achieved our grown understanding of freedom. Is this the real freedom we hoped for? Is it the freedom that countless lives fought for in wars here and elsewhere in the globe? If your answer is YES then you have freedom, but if not then you have to find it. I remember GANDHI once said that "Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes" so if you do not try to get that real freedom this man in the video sought for; then that is the struggle you have to go through in order to get it.

Learning the lessons and living the life meant for each person in this world is the freedom I choose. If it was only that simple for each one of us, then there would not be that much chaos in this world. We would have fewer things to worry about. We just need to do our share in getting this world to be better than when we found it. That is the only way we can say we have achieved freedom.

Memorial Day 2009

Monday, May 25, 2009

It's Memorial Day in the US and everybody is on festive mood because my site seems on a slump lately. I've got to be crazy not to notice that because every program in cable was showing celebrations in the US and other naval and air bases around the world.

This particular day is celebrated each last Monday of May and is done to thank each and everyone who participated in the 2 world wars that the country went to. Not to mention the other small wars that some Filipino soldiers also participated in. I know because my Grandpa was part of it too, well let me just rephrase that because I think everyone at that time was part of it in the Philippines. We really did play a major role in the war and thousands of Filipinos died at that time. I remember my Grandma said a few things about going to the provinces to evacuate so they can stay away from Japanese soldiers who infiltrated the major cities. It was a good thing they bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki otherwise there would have been more nations that could have gone under threat. We are situated in such a strategic place in the Pacific Ocean that everyone had to make us a part of it. I wonder what I could have done at that time... well I better stop day dreaming and start working. I've got tons of reports to do obviously.

To the veterans, thank you! Happy Memorial Day!

Israel Pushes Through Gaza

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

Israeli soldiers look over Gaza, when will this war stop?!! (-_-)"

Israel seized control of high-rise buildings and attacked houses, mosques and smuggling tunnels as it pressed its offensive against the Gaza Strip's Hamas rulers while just today in the news, I heard that the U.S. joined the countries pushing for a cease-fire in the region. Palestinians also say that there are about 540 dead and nearly 2,000 wounded since Israel struck war on Dec. 27, including at least 200 which were said to be civilians.

There are three demands to be met to stop the Israeli operations in that region:

1.) An end to Palestinian attacks
2.) International supervision of any truce and a halt to Hamas rearming.
3.) While Hamas demands a cessation of Israeli attacks and the opening of vital Gaza-Israel cargo crossings, Gaza's main lifeline.

President Bush and the US reiterates Israel is just protecting itself. The situation in Gaza was caused by the terrorist group Hamas. Hamas still is defiant and daring Israel to continue to make this a bloodbath in the streets. Israel is overwhelming everything since they are experts in urban warfare. US is taking a back seat in this case and is watching over the EU to settle this dispute in a major way. Obama is in the sidelines where he should be since he is not yet in power and letting Bush handle these things. What do you think people should do to stop this war? This is just sad. Comment on this please!

The War In Gaza Strip and Israel

Monday, January 05, 2009

Thousands of people suffering from wars, why wouldn't they just STOP!

Okay, so here I go now telling you what I think about the war in Israel and the Gaza Strip. Some of my fellow bloggers would not probably discuss this on their site because they’re like 1.) Don’t know much about it or 2.) There are other things to worry about that war in this world… I dare now since I’ve been itching to speak about it since I’ve heard it over CNN.

The Gaza Strip, tanks are already going through towns!

I am no war crime expert, but I’ve weighed the pros and cons of this particular war and why it happened. As a background, let me tell you what happened to my Aunt a few months back as she was part of MAJOR HEADLINES. If you are a follower of my blog, you know that my Aunt Milet was kidnapped by armed men from world renowned terrorists/kidnappers Abu Sayyaf. My Aunt was doing preparations to work for an NGO from Malaysia to help the people of Sulu, Tawi Tawi and Basilan. The surrounding areas and provinces included. She however is Christian in a Muslim centrifuged community so she was treated a little differently (I think) in that part of the world. I hated them (Abu Sayyaf) for doing that to the few people who make life better in the southern Philippines because of the fact that there are only a few of them left. How I wish I could just bomb these terrorists so she could be set free because it was just a BIG nightmare for me and my family. We were merely spectators in this case because we knew how dangerous these men were to start with. People were talked to and arrangements were made so she could be released. Yes ladies and gentlemen, she was weak and suffered a horrible ordeal in the treacherous jungles of Mindanao. She was released on a Friday, November 14, 2008 so thank God! Thank Allah for that! (article about it here)

Now, with that horrible experience from terrorists you should wonder what I would feel about this WHOLE WAR between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza. First of all, I hate terrorists because of obvious reasons. Hamas has been launching 30-40 rockets into Israel these past few weeks before these whole ruckus began. The Palestinian authority has a few people working with this group and some who only purely work for the people and the government. They say they are a different entity in the beginning but they never denied that some of them are from Hamas. They were all part of the fight before as we all know. If we want to point an accusing finger WHO IS TO BLAME for this war, it’s a HEADLESS chicken and egg hunt! These factions have been fighting since B.C. and A.D and the 21st century for crying out loud! Now it’s blowing out of proportion because you know both sides could not be handled by the so called super powers of the world and the UN.

Palestinian Authorities were blaming Israel for killing women and children…making them hungry and isolating them. Israel on the other hand blamed Hamas for launching an unending barrage of rockets to southern cities so they have ongoing operations and plans to stop Hamas permanently. Israel was looking like sitting ducks there for a while since they did not do anything in earlier attacks of the same nature. Hamas in this case was just doing too much.

Israel had to defend itself and its people from the terrorists. If the Palestinian authorities could not do anything about their own internal arrangements with these groups that some even call heroes at their homes, then Israel had to go fight them back to make sure their people are safe. The same case would be done here; we need to also get rid of our own terrorists to eliminate this problem. When do you think this would stop though? Israel is also hurting civilians but they are treating them as “needed casualties” for their own concerns. Who is right or wrong in this case? Who is to blame for the hundreds and thousands of people dying and suffering? Something has got to be done because it is just not enough to ask them to stop fighting. You need to weigh both sides before you can put an end to this. First, Palestinian Authorities must take control of their own territory and Hamas. Police their own borders first and stop whatever radical Hamas militants are doing to hurt people in Israel. Then Israel, after making sure that Hamas would stop what they are doing, should also stop their military offensive. They already have their own marked territories, the only thing both sides should do is work the land they are in and get on improving the lives of their people. Israel is getting alienated in that part of the world not just because they are “Christians and Jewish people” but because they are Israelis. Look at the countries around them… they are all super powers too if you ask me. This is just unending, what do you think both sides should do to stop this war and keep it from escalating? Comments are welcome! So go ahead and click the comment box! This is just my opinion, I need to hear what you think.

If the Shoe Fits

Thursday, January 01, 2009

The US Military operations continue in the Middle East specifically on Iraq and Afghanistan. We all know that nobody's a winner when it comes to war. People get hurt, more women and children are displaced. It’s quite understood that they would not have time to make a living, nor learn what they need to in school. It’s a pity that we need to send troops in that region. Men and Women sworn in to protect their motherland, now have responsibilities to keep peace in the world. This is a huge task, you can never complain because this is the US taking the lead in the global war against terrorism. We just need to do our part to help our troops so they'd safely return home.

They are real heroes at work!

Some roads and corners in war stricken Iraq are not surely safe. There are times when the US Soldier has to go to patrol every once in a while to keep peace intact communities throughout Baghdad and the Southern City of Basra. It took them a month or so to have these taken over and one of the reasons why they keep a low fatality rate is because they prepare before they go out for operations. They need backpacks, head gears, shirts, the ever dependable bullet proof vests and the perfect shoes. Now why the perfect shoes you ask? And why do I put so much emphasis on this? That's easy! With the tough landscape and environment in the desert, our men and women shouldn't suffer the same fate as camels and other creatures in that place. That is just not right; because for the role they play in saving our lives and keeping the world a better place to live in, you know they deserve only the best. This is where Wellco Boots come into the picture. They know how to play this game because they have a wide selection of boots to choose from. For the varying terrain and weather in that side of the globe, you need ones for tactical work, for the hot weather, for desert combat, those that are lightweight, waterproofed ones and the ones that can give you the grip (rippled soles) which you need to win the fight.

They even have shirts and caps that come along with the equipments so everything would fit perfectly. These are products approved by the US Military and other government agencies. Now anyone in the world would be able to have the opportunity to have one of their own. Are you the type who gets left behind? Can you be like the heroes this country is proud of? You can call their customer service personnel available to answer you questions over the phone Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 CST but only if the shoe fits!

Pope Benedict XVI Christmas Message

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Pope Benedict XVI waves to faithful during the 'Urbi et Orbi' (to the City and to the World)

The Pope's message this Christmas season was simple... "DO NOT BE SELFISH".. in the world where the existing problems are also haunted by today's crisis, he asks everyone to decry a simple thing... selfishness. I know for a fact that there are people who earned millions in the banking industry. These bunglers spelled the collapse of the world's biggest corporations... and they should be the one to follow these words.... that's if they know how to do it... and if they really know what it means. They are all greedy.. and they should be put to jail for doing this to the world's economies.

Other parts of his speech included those who are at war, those who are hungry... we all should do our share to help them in any way we can. What if you lived in that part of the world? Would you weather hunger in Africa?... would you dodge bullets in Israel and Palestine territories? He's right.... we all should do our share to help... I hope he visits countries next so he could inspire people to do his deed. =) Merry Christmas everyone!

KUMAGCOW Game Reviews; UTOPIA

Tuesday, October 07, 2008

Other kingdoms say OUCH when the snake bites! Arrgh!

UTOPIA a world unlike any other ; is the catchy phrase you see in this online web based game by SWIRVE.COM. I've been playing this for ages... (was playing Genesis for years!) but like any game, sometimes I do okay.. sometimes I don't. You better visit the site if you haven't played it yet... this site won People's Voice webby awards for 2002 and 2003 as the gaming site of the year.

We're all mere mortals I know... but in this online browser based game, we can be anything we wish to be... something like role playin.. I'm in a kingdom called Kingdom of the Snake right now and it's fairly doing good in Wars... if you were there the last "age" (which is the game duration) you'll probably notice we're doing much better now... more better players coming in and activity is becoming higher... the game takes turns so you may have to login more than twice a day to keep your province alive... and in this age we stand Wars: 3 - Wins: 2. It's just enough, now we have to plan for a better strategy because we already are preparing for bigger kingdoms to war with. It's not that violent (no don't get that idea!) but it'll keep you to your feet because even if you go home or you go to school/work you still sometimes wonder "what happened to my kingdom?!" its a lil addictive and haunting.

So if you plan to waste time online (LOLZ) and enjoy conquering, warring, casting spells, meteors and fireballing people... then don't forget to play Utopia @ http://games.swirve.com/utopia

I wanna say a big HI to my KD mates btw! Good job last war!
^_^
Let's do a better job next war! Wraaaaah!
