AC Health Confirms Expansion Plans for Healthway Medical Network

Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Just got back from the festivities held at the Altaraza Town Center as they made QualiMed San Jose Del Monte a part of the new Healthway Medical Network and named it Healthway Qualimed Hospital - San Jose Del Monte now. They are under AC Health, a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation which thrust is building a healthcare ecosystem that will provide healthcare for all!

We had the chance to talk to AC Health President and CEO Paolo Borromeo where he mentions how they plan to expand into more areas around the country and utilize funding to build, operate medical facilities and clinics to reach and serve even more people, to give medical services that are apt for the location and retrofit, renovate, build new facilities where it's needed. Here's a glimpse of the new Healthway Qualimed Hospital in SJDM Bulacan on video:

Sir Jaime Augusto Zobel De Ayala was there during the occasion and says "I am delighted to be here to be with you. Glad to see Ayala Corporation peers, LGU's all who have been such a big help, thank you for being here. It's an honor to be with you, during the pandemic, SJDM is the first COVID testing center and we had an opportunity to administer vaccines during a very crucial time. Today we celebrate a milestone, with a new name, as Qualimed is now part of Healthway Medical Network, a part of a larger care network. We plan to expand our medical facilities, including clinics in key tour areas around the country. As our ecosystem expands under the Healthway Medical Network, we promise Health Beyond Cure."

Aside from Mr. Ayala and Paolo Borromeo, the Congresswoman, several LGU executives and representatives from the provincial government of Bulacan were there to witness the event. As a way to thank them, they were presented with Healthway Care Cards for their constituents, both for the city and provincial government so if they would need to help people in their locale, they can go to the Healthway QualiMed Hospital in San Jose Del Monte and be attended by talented Doctors, Specialists, Nurses and staff that has made this place what it is today.

Mr. Ayala also thanked them all for the work they have done during and after the pandemic, but mentions it's far from over. He said sorry because he couldn't thank them personally one by one (because of time constraints) but he knows how hard they've worked these past few years as the acquisition of QualiMed by AC Health pushed through. This will be just the start of even more hospitals and clinics that AC Health plans to acquire in the next few years because they plan to invest more in health services as part of their company's goals for the country. So make sure you follow their social channels to know more about their cause.

Congratulations Healthway QualiMed Hospital in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan!

The Medical City Launches "TMC Partner Link"

Friday, June 21, 2013

It's been a while since I've been to Medical City in Ortigas and the last thing I've heard about them was where some of my celebrity friends mentioned some lapses in customer service (re: Rocco Nacino's encounter with a Doctor) but it's a good thing they are constantly trying to make improvements and making it less of a hassle for patients. Last June 19, they launched a program called "TMC Partner Link" where they provides patients and partners easy and secure access to their medical records. This is actually done via the Internet, and what's great is that this is all free - NO CHARGES at all.

(Image from http://themedicalcity.com and not mine)

This new facility actually would contain the patients laboratory and radiology diagnostic results. This also will show summaries of the patient's activity after their discharge. Wherever they are, whenever they are, they can also see personal health trackers that enable them to monitor vital signs through a graphic interface. They would be able to see blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar and weight which is fully synced on the hospital's electronic medical records, a feat that other hospitals in the country has never done yet. This system also allow doctors to monitor their patients without frequent hospital visits making the meager communication way efficient equivalent to a real deal consultation.

Dr. Mike Muin, Health IT Head of The Medical City says that the portal also employs a strict identification verification and authentication procedure to protect sensitive medical records and personal information from unauthorized access. All data is securely stored on a repository inside the confines of The Medical City. Users who have been admitted from June 24, 2013 onwards will be offered the service as part of their standard admission procedures. They just need to visit the hospital's website http://www.themedicalcity.com. For those who have been confined earlier can easily call or email TMC’s Customer Service Department to sign up for a Partner Link account and have the same privileges as these patients.

Congratulations on making innovations like these. If you would like to visit The Medical City, they are located along Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City. You can call them at +632 988-1000 or +632 988-7000. You can also email them at mail@medicalcity.com.ph, or visit www.themedicalcity.com. I sincerely hope you continue making your patients lives easier, better, healthier and safer. Your innovations speak highly of you, 40 years of service to the Filipino people is an extraordinary feat.

The Perfect Life

Thursday, June 30, 2011

We all wished for the perfect life. Maybe to get a wife who would always be there for you, a kid who would cheer you up when you get back from the office... a family you can call your own. Health is one of the most important things you can give them; and if your family members do not get sick, you wouldn't have to spend a single dime for hospitalization. Your funds will be intact and you get to enjoy life as it is. There are some instances though that no matter what you do in order to keep your family safe; they would still encounter problems in health. I heard of cases where normal prescription medicine even have harmful side effects; when you just wanted to cure a simple case all along. Take the Paxil Lawsuit for example which was initially marketed as an anti depressant. It turns out that there are now documented clinical studies where it is said that it can cause birth defects. If you are an expecting mother and you didn't know that right from the beginning how would you feel if something happened to your child?! Isn't that unfair?!

Fair warning and some sort of precaution should have been given even before releasing this particular drug. No matter how intelligent of a life form we are our babies can't defend themselves upon birth. No amount of fame or fortune would be able to equate the lives of these children. It's so right to ask for help and reprimand those who have wronged the innocent. Suicidal tendencies and harm one's self isn't my idea of a cure so if you are took this medicine in the past and showed the same symptoms, get some help and don't hesitate to ask!

What if this happened to you?! What would you do?!

Healthy Meals to Get Buff!

Thursday, May 05, 2011

I've been working out for the longest time and the gym expenses that I have accumulated might have already equaled a single visit to the plastic surgeon to get liposuction. That never entered my mind because I want to stay all natural. The need to workout outweighs my urge to do cosmetic procedures done and even at this particular weight level that I'm in I still consider it healthy. With the proper diet and exercise regimen I know I would be able to do it. I've been trying to get a Vin Diesel physique so I need some protien bars to keep me fit without worrying about too much calorie/sugar intake before working out. I love how it somehow suppresses hunger so I eat 4 - 5 small meals rather than starving myself and go to an eat all you can spree in lunch or dinner. I've seen remarkable improvement and it shows that I am gaining mass rather than pure flabby fat. Once I cut back on calorie intake this might get me started on a designed circuit training + running program so I can achieve my goals. I've been drinking chocolate - vanilla protein shakes too before and after workout. I get that extra energy I need when lifting weights while pushing myself to the limit.

If I get to the desired weight that I want to be I'll stop lifting heavy stuff and concentrate on resistance training and running so I'd lose my gut. It's one problem area that most of us on this side of the world always had a problem with. The starchy rice diet isn't helping either so I would probably stop that or try other meals like high fiber crackers or saltines if needed be. I'll try and see what I can do to keep my energy up without getting too much calorie intake or fatty foods in the recipes I prepare at home. I will take this one day at a time and in a few years I'll surely get to where I want my body to be. Much like the guy I want to look like in the movies.

I'd like to be the one who gets the girl in the end too! =)

They Must Be Crazy!

Sunday, April 10, 2011

The actual reason why I named my site in such a way is because some people think I'm crazy. I self diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I am extremes since when I feel depressed; my whole world collapses. If I am happy I can turn gray ones into clowns. People have been telling me that I should still seek professional help. I actually did but they said I'm normal so let's not spend too much time on that issue. I am worried though because there are people who take medications for psychological conditions that is really harmful. Imagine pregnant women having irreversible birth defects, unusual bleeding here and there, vertigo, hallucinations and a lot more horrible things that can happen upon intake of it. I would never recommend it to any of my relatives or friends and if I have to I'd participate in depakote lawsuit then say my piece against the medicine. The bad effects obviously outweigh the good and if I were in their shoes, I'll never even think about it.

It is horrible that babies could just die like that. How could they still prescribe this legally? Life is so precious; and if someone who undergoes depression needs it but later on gets the horrible effects that would be so appalling! What would you do if you were in that situation? Would you still take the bitter pill if it would cost the life of your child? I know you know the answer to that question.

Wishful Thinking

Thursday, March 31, 2011

I wanted to pursue a medical career when I was a kid but I always ended up in the wrong side of the story because I was always hospitalized. I get sick most of the time and that turned out to be one of the signs that I was destined to be a Computer Engineer. I was happy to say the least but almost all my cousins are nurses. I'm the only one based in the Philippines and they ended up in Canada, US or Australia. I wanted to wear nursing uniforms even before puberty because I wanted to end up practicing medicine professionally. That's how obnoxious I was even before the thought dissipated in college. That would have been neat to see me in white. I still like daydreaming about people calling me Doctor Ha-ha!

Today, seeing my cousins having families of their own and an illustrious career out of it I sit and wonder what could have happened if I pursued it?! I may have been one of the most successful pediatrician or neurological doctors that the Philippines have produced. I always end up buying them cheap scrubs for Christmas but they never knew I was thinking of wearing one too. I did that a couple of years ago when there was a fad wearing them just for kicks. I secretly wished to wear them all just for fashion purposes but deep inside it was clinging on to me. I wish there was some way I could have time to learn another course and get a medical degree. I would like to help a lot of people and be like some of my successful relatives who have money to spend and still have time of their family. I want to see myself wear nursing scrubs not just for kicks, but live life with a purpose. Wouldn't anyone want that?! =)

The Perfect Body

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I have skin problems too. Some people might look at me and say it looks flawless but I do struggle just like any normal person would do. In my side of the world we're quite fortunate that a tan is but like a regular thing. We don't have to spend that much time under the sun just to get some or even go to salons and spray it on. If I lose a lot of weight I'll be worrying about it too because there will be a tendency for the over stretched ones to sag quite a bit which will make it unappealing for anyone to look at. I vouch for any procedure that will make me look good and if it means that I have to go to Hawaii Plastic Surgery and get it done, I'd be glad to do so!

I need to be confident and look my best every time I go out. If there would be some procedures to be done to make me a little perfect then by all means I'll go ahead. It maybe a little too forward for some of us but I have researched quite a bit and it looks like the ones I need are relatively safe. I'm sure with qualified and great educated doctors it will be easy to do all this. Would you do the same perhaps?! If you want to have something changed in your body, what would it be?! Why?! Let me know and let's talk about it!

You Can Help!

Friday, July 30, 2010

I am a trained Red Cross volunteer and it has been a passion for me to be here since I was in 7th grade. Imagine the number of years I've spent with peers and medical professionals. I'm not in that field since I got a Computer Engineering degree in college instead. Although a geek, I never stopped going to various organizational causes that the PRC starts. If you know how it feels to help someone in need when disaster or calamities strike then you probably have a clue of what I'm talking about. The importance of disaster preparedness and providing health care to the less fortunate should be a priority of every public or private corporation. I always make it a point to do my share and help out. I also try and educate my friends by exposing them to activities like medical missions and relief operations. The local government and my own congressman are putting funds to make sure their constituents are well taken care of. This is one lesson we shouldn't forget because if you got healthy people, your workforce is also the same.

They also got me to take charge of the first aid supplies. In some instances we have to even travel 6 hours by foot in order to reach remote areas in the province since there are no formal roads built for them yet. It is a hard task but if there is no effort from the government and foundations that dedicate time and resources; they would not be able to survive. In times of natural disasters, calamities where lives are at stake we all need to help out each other. Getting them proper protective equipment and materials to save more lives is necessary to prevent the inevitable. I feel the need to get more people involved by sharing what I have and getting the information out. God made us human so we could think and fend for ourselves; and that includes getting the best supplies for these situations. Places like 1staidsupplies.com would be a great place to start! They've got one of the best sets I've ever seen so if you want to start and help please get us one of these!

If it's My Turn!

Monday, May 24, 2010

I have been looking for ways to stop time. I don't want to age like most of you guys and I have considered taking major surgery in the future. I want that or maybe get a different treatment that would not be invasive. I hate seeing knives. I hate seeing syringes and that event where it spurts liquid in the air before they stick it to you. Oh my... just typing that in made me feel some goose bumps. When I decide in the future to have something done I will get Studio City Plastic Surgery. I would go and get myself made up by their doctors who finished in the most reputable (some of them Ivy League) schools. I specifically like Dr. Brian Kinney to do the procedure. I've read the nicest things about his past patients and I'm sure to give it a try once I get my funds.

I realize I have a lot to thank for though. I have good genes and don't look my age so far. If I need to talk about it I'm sure that I can count on Dr. Brian Kinney MD to give me advice. I bet he's not going to be harsh and he can suggest things that can be done with minimal invasive surgery if I need one. Liposuction would never be too far away. Everyone has done it anyway so why shouldn't I take care of myself!

Feel Beautiful Inside and Out

Friday, February 06, 2009

I just got in from the gym and a lot of people were there in a Friday afternoon. I guess they also are like me shedding those extra pounds gained over the holidays. Yeah it’s already February and the weight is still there. Nobody could take it off in a week of course because just like ordinary people we still have to eat. Yo-yo diets abound the regimen of guys and gals who spend hours there but I’m quite optimistic that I’ll still be losing a lot once I get serious about it.

We’ve been seeing posts here in my site lately about medical procedures to make people look good. I’ve got nothing against it really but maybe in a conservative point of view I would not want to meddle with what God has already given me. Sometimes though I keep thinking about the money I spend each month for the gym. What if I just save that money and once I get into 6 digits try other options like liposuction and some non surgical procedure to trim down. I still see Mom’s in the gym that had their nose jobs and you know what done to them. As far as I’m concerned as long as they don’t look silly and it would help them be youthful looking then I’m okay with that. There are those who take it too far to the point of addiction, but that’s just plain dangerous and I would not recommend anyone to do that.

The government is even endorsing medical tourism that includes surgical enhancements. This is also good for the economy because it would cost relatively 90% cheaper here than if you do it in the United States. But of course you should always do it where you’re confident and feel safe. Like the botox new hampshire clinics offers; if you live in the vicinity and know local doctors that can do it for you then by all means do it there. Nobody would want to end up in a fly by night hospital that has no experience whatsoever with these complicated surgeries. These are major operations by the way because it does not only need local anesthesia; it makes use of general anesthesia and needs a couple of months or weeks to recover. Make sure you know what you are doing if you plan to go under the knife. Check out the best doctors and surgeons at http://www.plasticsurgerypa.com and avail their state of the art plastic surgery services. The result is always going to be permanent and you know that. I also wish that no matter what people do to their physical appearance, they should always stay beautiful inside and out.
