This July has certainly been a lot busy. With restrictions easing, my time in coffee shops to work, shopping, and events, is getting helluv a lot expensive. That's beside the fact that inflation is at an all time high and rice isn't 20 bucks. When I head the news that the iconic PayMaya bird would be gone, I admit... I was a little sad when I heard that. It's very iconic, but as they say in the industry... change is inevitable.

Gone are the days of digital wallets being just a wallet to send and receive money... or pay bills. These days, people need an all in one place to do ALL their transactions. To change the way you do things, this is where MAYA comes in.

I already some of my funds transferred because of it and you don't have to spend fees in transferring from your wallet to the savings account. The third section in the app is Maya Credit where you can borrow money as much as Php 15,000. You can use this for paying your bills, essentials in your supermarket, buy load or another smartphone. If you want to buy Crypto, just click on they Maya Crypto option on the wallet section and just agree on the prompts indicated there. You need upgraded status to access Maya Bank and Maya Crypto so make sure to have yourself verified through that. You won't see the word PayMaya but the Maya Wallet can do everything that it did in the past.

My first purchase of Crypto from them was Ethereum, it was just a normal transaction and I immediately got the notification that the purchase was successful. If it was this easy and I didn't have to file any paper or form, I'm sure everyone would find it that easy too.

Well yeah, I am kinda also in a rut when they said that PayMaya is number 2 for the Financial apps in the country. I've been using this service since they started, and til now, I've been able to conveniently pay for all my bills via the PayMaya app.

The City of Marikina Goes Cashless with PayMaya

This morning was a little different, because when I opened my Paymaya app, it showed a link to information called the Paymaya 2020 Cashless Lifestyle Report. It basically summarizes all your transactions during 2020 and how you were able to get rewards each time you use the app. I took advantage of paying bills, paying for groceries, paying for food in restaurants and transferring money to other people on the Paymaya app. 

My friends have been posting (AND MAJORLY FLEXING) their cashless lifestyle results and most of them only got around 500+ pesos as cashbacks on the app. So I was merely just expecting the same kind of amount too, but lo and behold, I have been blessed!

 

 So after paying my bills, paying for food, paying for groceries and paying for medicine via the Paymaya app, I got a total of 1,625 pesos CASHBACK just because I used it. Now isn't that a sight for sore eyes?

 

 

The trick is, I always check the Paymaya Deals here https://www.paymaya.com/deals before I pay for anything, if they have a promo on a certain store or partner establishment, I use the Paymaya QR payment option to pay for things. I guess that's how I got this much cash back eh? Not only that, people have been donating through the Paymaya app for the Typhoon and Pandemic relief efforts last year. PayMaya Powers Cashless Payments at Philippine Statistics Authority

This is getting very interesting. For starters, it's a good thing that the government is finally adapting to cashless payments and to note, there's about 60 agencies that have already partnered with PayMaya. I've been using the app for a lot of things during the quarantine period which started about a year ago. Little did we know we're up for this huh?

Anyway, government transactions has always been important especially if you're bound to travel places, or to prove your identity, or have someone investigated especially if they're married or not LOL. Anyway, you and I know how important these documents are and yes, you only get them in the Philippine Statistics Authority. So if you're looking for birth certificates, death or civil registry, it's going to be easier and safer to pay for it now because they've managed to adapt to cashless payment with PayMaya. Thing is, this is just the start because soon, they're also going to be including the online channels of PSA too in the future. That means, everything will be online if that happens and imagine how convenient would that be if you're just going to wait at home and have those documents delivered to your doorstep. Ahh the convenience of technology.
