All about Choices

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Sometimes we need to consider a lot of things before putting up a web site. The technology site that I have put up years ago will be going through another phase this year and I'm so excited about it. We already have a domain name in mind and we have created a lot of articles out of the events we went to these past few months. From servers, browsers, networking technologies and corporate news it has turned out very informative to say the least. Though it has accomplished a lot these past few months I have yet to find a web site hosting service that would be able to handle the traffic and bandwidth I require; and it has taken me a long time to get one that would satisfy my needs. I am trying to convene my friends from the IT industry on line to ask them about places I could go to for this and they have come up with a lot of companies. I need to research a lot about this obviously.

Have you ever experienced trouble choosing a name for your site? What particular things did you take in consideration before you went ahead and purchased your domain? If you were in a dilemma over the domain name would you go ahead and choose the obvious ones out of the dictionary or would you prefer a unique one so you can set it into a brand? When choosing a web hosting service provider, do you bother to look at the price points or do you trust them via the reviews they get from consumers?! I may need to look for independent ones that have impeccable customer service because the last thing I would want to have is a company that I wouldn't be able to call if problems arise. I have seen horror stories and I wouldn't want that to happen to my site. If you have invested a lot and made these articles available on the Internet they should at least stay on line all the time!

How about you?! What would you choose?

Hosting Solutions for Us!

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

I just formed a new forum for my friends from college and we need this for our activities this coming UAAP season. It has been a while since our former one dissipated because of the hosting problems we had. I know it would be hard to start over but we don't really have a choice. I'm looking for a better one and it looks like inmotion hosting would be perfect. Judging from the rating it currently has from other users it looks quite promising. I want to have uninterrupted connection because the "Red Tribe" as we are commonly called need updates every day. I did put in a chat box too so we can talk in real time. I'm quite worried about the bandwidth requirement because our previous host and the site usually crash when there are a lot of users on line. This is an easy job for institutions like INMOTION as the feedback is astounding!

We have plans to get the domain as well so if the time comes I know where to host it. I would probably go for the dot ORG so it would be appropriately named. I'll ask them who's going to pay for it annually too when the time comes. For now, I'm going to concentrate on how to make the site and portal a little cleaner so when Alumni, Students and Fans of the University of the East Red Warriors would come they'd never hesitate joining this community! I have a hunch that this will be big but for now I'm contented that some of my closest friends are here. Once the games start we will be there to support our Alma Mater weather we win or lose! I'll be a warrior until the end!

Easy Breezy Web Hosting

Friday, October 29, 2010

I've been looking for a way to promote my photography business and one of the best solutions I know is to get a web site for it. I've been putting up structures like this in the past and one of the important choices I have to make is how to find easy breezy web hosting. Setting up a domain is strategy among all other things in business. If I'm going to make this right I have to start with the clear basics. Choosing the right name, domain name and planning the site architecture so if someone gets my services it wouldn't be too hard to contact me. I have to also allot time to put content on it so I would be able to present professional looking output as what I've been doing in the past. My portfolio will speak for itself and I have to get some of the site details to enhance what I already have. With this in the works I'm surely going to open more opportunities for my peers as well. I need to get the hiring process for an assistant done ASAP!

To get a lucrative business going I have to get the best services even if it is just for hosting my web site. It actually spells how it would make or break me in the long run. I have to choose wisely if I plan to use it for transacting business too. The connection also needs to be secure and accommodate the traffic which this site calls for. Maybe institutions like web hosting hub should be taken in consideration since they match the perfect one I require. Are you running a commercial site now? Is your provider doing a good job? Let me know!

Blogetery Back From Cemetery

Thursday, July 22, 2010

If you are one of the users of Blogetery you might be in for a surprise. The service provider Burst.net has been ordered to have the service back again and this means the owner will be given a copy of around 70,000 users blogs since they were shut down a couple of months ago due to accusations of violations in its terms of service. The Russian owner Alexander Yusupov is seeking help of lawyers in this long battle and I'm sure the 5th Amendment will come to play since it was shut down without informing the owner and was only doing it with FBI authorities.

A lot of questions came into mind. Was public safety really in question here?! There are some links to bomb making sites as accorded by the FBI but these are probably mere accusations. They should have given him time to have it moderated and at least a chance to have the offenders taken off like most blog hosts would do but to suspend the whole 70,000 population is just preposterous. Why in the world were they given authority to do that?! Where is free speech in this sense?! I know there will be some people that would gladly take the case and get him paid dearly. Site owners should know their rights and I hope this guy gets the proper amount of money from damages he incurred in the business. After all he did probably put that up for the same reason, just business and nothing else. If there were unscrupulous individuals doing the links then they should have been just suspended and had him informed about it.

Web Hosts: The Little Choices We Make

Sunday, June 27, 2010

It's that time of the year again when everything in my site becomes all temporary. If I don't get to pay my hosting provider this year they will probably take out my site instantly. They would not also hesitate to suspend services if they do not get credited at all. I understand how they feel but if you think about it, do they even ask people about their services? Like anything it's probably not that all perfect. It is tantamount to the success of your web site if you get the corresponding great web hosting provider. I know every web administrator understands how that works.

In the world where everything has been really busy; the last thing you would want think about is how you would need to manually go and pay for your domain purchases. It is troublesome for people like me and I would never want that to happen to other people. Getting a good company on line that can cater to our needs is not a luxury but a necessity. If I wasn't thinking about the other things that I could productively do other than worry about something that should be simple then I could have taken just anything. I know how hard it is to do all these together with managing several hundred people at work. I wouldn't want to suffer the consequences of not doing my job just because I had to make an effort doing things for my site. You all understand me BLOGGERS and web administrator's right?!

Web Host Goes Unlimited!

Saturday, May 22, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Nexx Online. All opinions are 100% mine.

I had a pretty good time again and it I must say this year was very productive. I got to publicize my site around the world by catching the SEO wave and got my own domain as well. I still am pushing for quality over quantity in doing posts and it has shown great content as my peers have noticed too. It's high time I get another site up but I'm still looking for the logistics in getting another domain published as well. This will be easy as long as Unlimited Web Hosting is available. I'm so glad there are institutions like NEXX who can provide this for me. I'm all for that!

Imagine unlimited disk space, bandwidth and emails. You get your own customized domain plus round the clock technical support for those who need it. They get to even have you hooked up with GOOGLE and FACEBOOK ads that would make traffic increase in your the first few months. Once you get your audience share it will be easy to sell your product and services if needed. NEXX has definitely raised the bar in providing this for everyone even if you use open source applications on your site. Tasks are now easier to configure because they sometimes only need a mere click of a button and voila! I love it! You should all get one now!

Quest for the Best Web Host

Thursday, March 18, 2010

This site of mine has already been up for about a little over 4 years. I did have some problems since this is probably hosted on a shared server. My guess is that my host probably had this account on a huge one together with other sites so he can get the prices down. Unfortunately it doesn't really come that cheap. The problem with that is; if one of us suddenly violates the laws governing the CYBERWORLD and gets taken down... the whole line also loses their domain. In this day and age a downtime would mean thousands of dollars to ordinary NETIZENS like me. What if I already own a small office/home office business and used this kind of service?! That would be just disastrous to even think about. Getting a dedicated web hosting is tantamount to the success of any business. I should get one for mine soon!

This lease on the domain which I have will expire around August and that is quite near. I have to make sure moving files, photos and stories would be accomplished before we lose important data. I can imagine the time that it would take because I have about a thousand posts already. Aside from that, I want to make all the photos crawled on a single server and with those high resolution copies it would probably take a long time to have them uploaded and hosted via FTP. I want to showcase my photos for prospective clients and since I have a brand running (which is quite popular now on the Internet) I will pursue putting them here along with the other services I plan to market. I have been doing a little video editing on the side for small fashion houses in Manila and this would be appropriate if I got unlimited space. I know this would be kind of abrupt but I have to seize the opportunity and get dedicated webhosting services as soon as possible. With my goal of getting to be a millionaire by the time I am 40, I need every bit of advantage to make that a reality. I would not gamble my life's savings sharing servers with people I don't know. If you were in my place I know you would start striving for success as early as now! This is the start of my quest for the best web host!

My Web Hosting Needs

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

There is a dire need for my photography group to put up a web site. Actually if you think about it; I need one myself too. Since I have engaged so much time and effort in this industry, the time to earn a living from it is inevitable. I need ecommerce web hosting as soon as possible so I could set up my photography business once and for all. I have invested money on lenses, cameras and accessories for this hobby and it has already taken me places. What makes it a little bit inconvenient is that I have no place to show my portfolio and show packaged prices at the same time. I have to get one now because I do not want to get left behind by competitors who are in the same market as I am. Although I am confident that my craft speaks for itself, I may have to show more in the long run and that is what I was preparing for.

Since I have concentrated in fashion and wedding coverage I do not think that I will have a hard time formulating a way to have everything automated from getting payments on line and arranging details on what packages they might want on the site. Getting this project up in the next few days would be better because summer and the month of June are fast approaching where a lot of these events usually happen. The start of finding web hosts is ON and design wise I will take a look at their various services. I hope that it would be sufficient enough for my standards because I want specific things done before I pay for it. I know who to look for now that's gone!

The Best Web Host

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

It's almost August and my domain expires on that month. I have to think of a way to either transfer all my posts into a different service or stick with the current one that I have. There is some kind of drawback if this actually expires and I do not do anything bout it. It may affect everything; and I may lose all my content in one blow because I do not know the logistics on how it would automatically credit to my account. Do they deduct that automatically? How do I recover it once it does expire? A lot of questions come to mind.

COW

Service is vital to any web hosting service since it would account content that you have on your web site. It would not be a pretty picture to see your data collated for approximately 4 years just go to waste because the company that you subscribed for did not advise you what to do and how to do it. Getting the best one in this day and age would be hard considering you have thousands of companies to choose from. It all boils down to their differences in service. It is one factor that you have to consider. This is quite important because you have to always make sure dedicated servers are given to your web site so people would not have problems with bandwidth and trouble accessing it. This is vital to the operation of your home page. I would like to recommend Web Hosting Geeks if you need a reliable and efficient company to help you achieve this goal.

Who Will Be Hosting My Site Next Year?!

Friday, May 22, 2009

My web hosting subscription is ending on August 2009 and I have not decided yet on what service I should pay for next year. The web site loads a little slow because of the hundreds of images I already have on it. I just do not know if it is caused by bandwidth restrictions or just the widgets I have loaded on my site. Funny you should ask, but I am really contemplating on getting a faster one real soon. I have to weigh the pros and cons obviously; there should be something that I can do to decide real soon.

I see there are web sites that review these service providers, maybe I need to go there and take a look. Experts already have indicated their web hosting rating on each of them and even ranked them according to specifications. The last person to have their say is the consumers. I will probably try and investigate how these companies fare with ordinary people and how they perform in real time. I know there are fly by night ones that give their services at a low price, but in the end will only get your site crawl a few minutes to load each time someone accesses it. That would be just bad for business and for your readers. I hope the top companies listed there are at par with standards. I fervently hope also that what they indicate on the specifications would really work for me. I trust the site who rates them since they not only give you names. They also educate people like us who do not understand the jargons too much in this industry. I am a geek but of course there are still some things that are oblivious to me. Good thing they are here to help! Web hosting rating has never been so easy to understand!

Web Hosting In These Hard Times

Sunday, March 22, 2009

There is the sad truth about businesses closing here and around the United States. This also means some websites would end up the same way like the forum site I always visit that because of budget constraints it will also be shut down and sold to the highest bidder. I would probably miss the people I was able to become friends with in the past 4 years. I'm sad because the site owner thought he does not have any recourse but to sell it. I know I would have been the best person they talked to because I know where they can get better web hosting services on line but I think they have already decided on this a long time ago. Maybe it's just too late to save that and the users who frequent that and their social network.

I saw information on the web comparing web hosting sites and I would recommend you visit Web Hosting Rating to check out what would be best for your own domain. For web masters like me, this is vital information so I could get a better deal in getting my site up on cyberspace. It is important so investments like these which cost a lot would be put on the board early on. It never struck me how important it was until this incident came. All my saved friends and my articles will also go down the drain because of this. Imagine the hundreds of sites they also will be deleting because they did not think ahead and got the finances taken cared of. Maybe now that their initial provider does not have that URL anymore listed in their system I can have that for my own. That's a long shot I know but imagine if I had the chance to get that right... I would be the proud owner of one of the most sought after social networking sites. That would be a nice thing to put on my portfolio sometime soon. The list still goes on and on for companies affected by the global financial crisis. I hope it ends soon.

Web Hosting Beauty and Madness

Friday, February 06, 2009

I’ve been running my website for almost four years. My life expectancy is a little over than that so I don’t want to waste time thinking about who would host my site if I plan to do so. I’ve had free ones and I’ve got paid ones for my projects. I don’t however the perseverance and have each transaction be problematic because I don’t have enough bandwidth, space for images and email storage.

You know, there’s such a thing as the horror of getting the DNS and the IP settings of your original domain so you could get the original content of your current site and have those transferred to the customized URL. I had first hand experience over that and I couldn’t even get my site working to at least see some of the content exist in cyberspace. I’ve had a few days of sorrowful evenings because I felt I didn’t exist in the Internet. My images also were big and the containment unit of the host was limited so I didn’t have the services to get my place up and running. I had to consult a few people (office mates) on what easy service I could get so I wouldn’t have an arduous time configuring major geek level web settings. I even lost my site settings in the process too so I had to get a new template for it. Imagine the days and hours just to get that back.

So I stopped by a website that called http://www.top10webhosting.com/ that listed everything that I needed. It even gave me options to choose different web hosting services that are extremely affordable and would not hurt my budget. I was only starting then and I needed something to at least tell me the tale of what to spend and what I should get. Get the latest and best web hosts you can get below $5 dollars. I’m sure you’ll like them a lot better than expensive ones that never worked!

Easier VPS Hosting

Friday, January 23, 2009

VPS or Virtual Private Servers make website maintenance easier and you can ask any webmaster could attest to that. I’ve got a couple of projects engaged in online communities that would require us to test images and construction before we can get the site published. You make a virtual copy of the current settings that you have online and make that content work for the improvements you want to bring in. Then if it already works, you just simply merge or replace the existing one. It makes life easier for me so we do not have to work out the bugs later on. It would be arduous and difficult to instantly publish your work and suffer the consequences later on if you encounter problems. You’re bound to have quality in your work if you continue the testing phase through these means of web hosting.

The line of Virtual Private Servers and VPS Hosting services offered by Host Color is reliable. The VPS starter offers 10GB Disk space and can accommodate higher volume if needed to get those high quality images loaded too. VPS advanced on the other hand is relatively higher and can withstand requirements of large data social networks and community forums. VPS power can get you and your small and medium office businesses on track together with structured e-commerce software and hardware capabilities to get no disruptions in secured transactions that would be better for large scale operations. All these services are available while prices remain reasonably affordable at $19.95 - $69.95 a month. Now you know why vps web hosting stays on top of the list for web masters like me.
