Blessed beyond his wildest dreams, that's what Gold Aceron describes his year. He's already done several indie films in the past that has landed him with acting awards, and trust from the producers, patrons who have noticed his work and acting prowess. This afternoon, we got to talk to him about his new movie Scorpio Nights 3. It's hailed from the classic 1985 movie created by Director Peque Gallaga written by T.E. Pagaspas which starred Daniel Fernando (now the Governor of Bulacan).
Gold Aceron used to work independently without a manager, but when he was booked to act in a music video, he was noticed by Kean and Chynna Ortaleza Cipriano who owns OC Records. He became their first managed actor after that. All he wanted to have was something simple, a slew of projects that would be able to alleviate his financial woes, so he could provide for himself and his family. He's practically done the legwork already, and he deserves the success he's having.
In the film he's playing the role of Matt, a young man discovering his potential in the "makin love" department. He fancies Pinay, a married woman played by Christine Bernas. Things will get complicated as Mark Anthony Fernandez' role as Drake (her husband) would find out later on about the illicit affair they're having which all started from a simple peephole.
Here's what happened earlier during the press conference:
Gold says "I was extremely happy when this project was mentioned to me. This is a classic movie, my parents knew it and I wasn't really informed first about who was going to comprise the role of the lead guy. They told me that I was going to be part of it, I was overwhelmed, even if I was a little nervous because my body wasn't as big as Daniel Fernando's back then, I was thankful this was really given to me. I watched the first one, I didn't have qualms about it being a little risky. OC Records really changed my career path, I feel lucky being in this management, they are a huge blessing for me because they really guide where I would go. They also mentioned I'd be singing soon, I'd like to explore that someday, why not, that's additional talent for me. I want to show people that this happens in real life, you'll learn something from Matt and how he explores this life. I'd love to do different roles, I also am doing a May-December affair movie soon, it's going to be this year too."
He adds "If I'd be able to choose, I want to be rich rather than famous so I can still go out whenever I want to and not be limited to stay at home. I want to go to malls without people recognizing me, just enough so I could provide for myself and my family."
If you would like to see the film Scorpio Nights 3, it's already available at the VIVAMAX platform which you can download in the App Store or Google Play. Thank you to OC Records for the opportunity to interview Gold earlier today!
It was a fun afternoon meeting the cast of upcoming sultry, suspense-thriller movie called TAHAN, which will be directed by Bobby Bonifacio Jr. under 3:16 Media Network. Tough Executive Producers John Bryan Diamante and Ms. Janilyn Carrillo deem unnecessary to think that this would be a challenge to do while we're all going through the pandemic because the material and story written by talented Quinn Carrillo (who's also part of the cast) was already enough reason to do this film. Bryan Diamante stresses that even though this is his first venture into the production side of the industry, he's got total trust with 3:16 Media Network. His goal is not just to create a quality movies like these... but learn the ropes while he's wearing the production hat in hopes to make even bigger stories come to life.
He says "I'm glad that right now, things are easing up a bit. People are looking for interesting stories, Quinn really made a really good script and I'm very excited about it. I know this will certainly be something that people would love to see."
I've noticed that they've gotten no shortage of passion. Seeing how eager they are to tell the story (even if there are some really disturbing subjects in the story line) you wouldn't be able to just concentrate on it because of the realistic parts that would make anyone certainly connect with the characters in the movie. Lead star Cloe Barreto says "It's not that difficult and I think I'm equipped to do this. It's actually really exciting to see that I'm going to work with JC Santos and my idol Ms. Jaclyn Jose. People are going to learn a lot from the story, this is coming from the point of view of the daughter. She's gone through a lot and it will teach people that these things happen in real life."
Executive Producers John Bryan Diamante and Janilyn Carrillo
Here's our video coverage of the story conference which includes a few questions answered by the cast. Please, enjoy!
Again, the cast includes Cannes Best Actress Ms. Jaclyn Jose, the very talented actor JC Santos, writer and actress Quinn Carrillo, Karl Medina, AJ Oteyza, former pro basketball player Mac Cardona (who was very good looking), indie queen Mercedes Cabral, the funny EJ Salamante, Joseph San Jose (who told us a very inspiring story on how he was able to land this role), Stiff Banzon and a whole lot more.
This surely looks so PROMISING, judging from the ensemble cast, a different kind of flavor from the usual romcoms you've been seeing released in PH theaters. One can just imagine how feisty Cloe and the cast is who promised they'll be bringing their A game once the camera starts rolling for this film called TAHAN. I can't wait to see it in theaters and digital platforms; they plan to have this out soon.
The Sinag Maynila film festival will happen on March 17-24 this year and yes, there are those who would dare tell the story of Paolo, a filmmaker, social activist cum revolutionary fighter. His roots are filled with his life experiences affected by the current socio-political situation that this country is still under. The film depicts a repressive and oppressive government, and tells of how he as a child, artist, become a seed of his own revolutionary movement.
This is written and directed by Joselito Altajeros, same director who did movies such as "Ang Lake Sa Parola (2017)", "Ang Lihim Ni Antonio (2008)", "Take of the Lost Boys (2017)", "Gino and Marie (2019)", among others. He wants to pursue films that injects his advocacies. This includes his democratic ideals showcasing the struggles of the masses. This is produced by Harlene Bautista via Likhang Silangan Entertainment and his new group called 2076Kolektib who's aim is to produce content with socially conscious themes. They are also joined by Wilson Tieng (Solar Group) and Director Brillante Mendoza of Cannes fame.
Again Sinag Maynila 2020 will happen on March 17-24, hopefully you can get to catch Walang Kasarian ang Digmang Bayan when it shows during the fest. The film stars prime indie actor Sandino Martin, Arnold Reyes, Rita Avila, Ruby Ruiz, Iana Bernardez, Many Garcia and a lot more.
Just saw Changing Partners today and boy was I impressed. The hit cinemaone originals entry that talks about LOVE got it's needed commercial run tomorrow and a premiere night with the four artists Jojit Lorenzo, Agot Isidro, Sandino Martin and Anna Luna.
Now the good thing is I'm looking at this movie like a regular spectator, as I havent watched the PETA production or when they showed this at the CinemaOne originals festival last year. The reason I said this needed a commercial run is because this is one spectacular representation of a world class production. Albeit casting lesser commercial appeal stars, it has greatly been able to tell the story of 4 relationships. All along I thought the narrative might have been given away at the trailer already but no, you need to see it on screen how they meticulously tied these gay, lesbian and May December affairs. The obvious message they would want to send is that love knows no gender, but really I think it's more than that. They treated each persona differently, and each individual may or may not ne affected by what the partner is doing. I am most impressed on how the material basically has said bluntly what a person should say in a situation, like if it does happen in real life it would have meant relationships would all go to shambles.
As writer Vincent De Jesus puts it, “Love can be overrated, the story is about my personality with humor, I am weird that way. It’s about relationships, friendships, how complete strangers become complete. We try to tell the story with truths and see
how it plays there. We hope people would watch this film for just the mere goodness of the material, we are nervous but excited for everyone to see it!”
Here’s a video of our interview with the writer and some of the stars of the movie.
CHANGING PARTNERS will be shown to the public tomorrow at leading cinemas including SM. Check out and see why it’s the most talked about film and why it won awards at the CinemaOne Originals festival last year. It definitely is worth every minute. If there would be some improvements I'd like to happen, it's those dizzying camera shots during the first few miniutes of the movie, aside from that I loved it. I'd give it 4/5 cows.
Hurry and watch it before you get old like a banana.
Had so much fun this afternoon. I honestly haven't watched this film because I was busy during last year's QCinema International Film Festival but I'm so glad they are showing this on October 20 - 26 at SM Cine Lokal.
We talked to two of the actors in this indie film and they graciously answered our questions. The bubbly Shandii Bacolod had us on her loft to talk about the film. She's a Producer, Director of several films but she induldged herself in this project because this role and script was done with her in mind, so after her busy schedules promoting a different movie, they went ahead with this project with JC De Vera and Jordan Herrera (who was there too by the way!).
Shandii shared how this came about and said "The real life story is really in Mandaluyong, but it was nice to see they had relationships inside the prison. I talked to murderers, there were things that shocked us because there were people that the Director knew personally. Things are different inside, we also thanked the people there by giving them hygeine kits. There are kissing scenes, long and passionate, we have to abide by their curfew and only shoot within their limits, even the night scenes. It was so fun sometimes and I helped sometimes in blocking actors. JC is very happy, this movie wasn't really done with a script and we had to compromise because we need to improvise on the concept especially the first few days. The actors that were under Brilliante Mendoza had it easy, but JC tried to learn from actors while in the shoot. He was humble, cautious and curious about the characters in order to tell their story. We laughed a few times because I had to do Visayan scenes, Aaron Rivera and Jordan Herrera is so good in this film. I might have done theater before but this is different, our ensemble was so good."
She adds "Gays have a lot of issues in the prisons. The STD's, even AIDS and how he did come out inside the prison and how the family got shocked. The sex and intimacy without real privacy, it was shocking for some, when I went there the firs time I got a little rattled because we had real prisoners locked up during some scenes. JC even went the mile and had himself paddled for real. When he won in the awards night we really supported him. We were rooting for him!"
We then talked to Jordan Herrera right after he arrived from the airport and he was very gracious, very down to earth, a total dream boy for women (although he's happily married with kids), he shared his experiences in shooting this film and told us how difficult it was to actually do it. Imagine a real life prison, in a remote area where you can smell the stench of real life prisoners who have been convicted of various crimes including drugs and murder. They had to spend the whole day taking videos of those scenes and interact with them every once in a while. They had to often sleep and take refuge in the same location for a couple of days and for normal people that would really be unbearable. They stayed otherwise and mustered finishing the project when it seemed impossible. JC and Jordan witnessed the same relationships they had in the movie inside that same prison so they said it was actually easy to connect with each other, admitting awkward at times but since they knew how different it was to deliver that story, they did it. Jordan and JC eventually won awards and we even witnessed how they Shandii gave the best supporting actor trophy to him that evening. That made all the sacrifices they did in this movie FULFILLING according to Jordan and he wouldn't mind doing another one if he gets offered a sequel.
I watched the movie and I must say, it's as REAL as it can get. It was nice to actually witness a love story unfold in the confines of that prison, and by any standards, I would agree that a LOT of people should watch it!
Make sure you don't miss this commercial run and the previews they plan to do in the future, because it's cute, very touching, to see grown men go through this too.
I've been witness to how Kapuso actress Bea Binene has been able to achieve a lot of success in recent years and true enough, she's had countless shows and endorsements but felt it's high time to feed her other passion... the environment. Through a self conceptualized and produced indie film that talks about mother nature, she says this advocacy needs to be shown so people would get to know about it, decide how to take action and inspire the youth. This is called FADING PARADISE. The cast includes Krystal Reyes, Coleen Perez, Kenneth Paul Cruz, Mark Castillo, Angelo Serna and Ms. Alma Moreno.
Bea says "The cast includes almost all my friends. We had screen tests and they all were included. This was the time when Tsuperhero was being done so we had Ms. Alma Moreno included. It was Mom who did the production and we wanted a certain topic that people could relate to. This was intended to be shown in schools, and if you see this film it will have an open ended scene in the last few frames because we want to incorporate a short forum right after the film showing of this indie advocacy film. We will have a screening at the 20th, 24th and 26th because this will be included in QCinema's featured films. In the film, it showcases what happens if occurs in Manila or in the provinces. It all just fell into place because in Bicol we didn't have set design, all the trash came from other places and settled there when we shot it in a beach. Proceeds of this film will go to GMA Kapuso Foundation (to help in cancer stricken kids) and some of our amputee soldiers."
She adds "When I did the Haribon Foundation tree planting activities, I realized how important it is and how mother nature is getting affected including our own beaches, our tourist destinations. Even the resorts where we went to later on closed because of it's effects. We wanted a location where everything was already there so when we thought of this, Bicol had a community ready and it was a struggle to do this in only a few days. We wanted to do this before November 1 when everyone was going to their own provinces because it's a holiday."
"We somehow didn't want this to have Artist Center artists and I blatantly used my friendship cards instead because if I do they needed to go through a lot of approvals. I started to help when I was still a kid and this is my way of giving back. The way they thanked me, those cancer patients just make this cause worthwhile. My mom is the one who's doing all of these, I help when I can. My character is actually so near my personality so we named her the same, I want people to go with her, make this as an eye opener that they need to do something. This will premier at QCinema and we have a few cities we have partnered with, so if there are people who would want to show this in their turf, just please coordinate with my Mom and my handler. I really want to thank Artist Center for helping us about promoting this film."
Here's a snippet of her interview this afternoon:
Fading Paradise will be part of QCinema this October. So if you want to watch it, they'll be at Gateway Cinema 7 on October 20, that's Friday next week at 3PM. They also have a screening at Robinsons Galleria Cinema 7 on October 24, that's on Tuesday at 3:30PM and at the QC Museum Mini Theater on October 26 at 3PM. For those who also want to partner with them for screenings, you may coordinate with her Mom or Manager so you could work things out for shows. Artist Center and Bea Binene would also like to thank ETUDE House and Unisilver Time for the stuff they sent for this blog conference.
I've been keeping this article on draft for the longest time as this will be a part of Cinemalaya 2017, a local film festival held annually specifically for non commercially released independent films set at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The festival encourages the creation of new films, made by Filipino film makers and hasten new breed of Directors, writers and people in the industry. The release of this film will be on August and is hosted by the Cinemalaya Foundation Inc.
When I heard the title of this film written and directed by Perry Escano, I was a little dumbfounded about how a Teacher would be able to teach kids when he wasn't able to read. This is actually a very interesting premise. I mean there could be ways to do it, it's probably how they adapt to their condition, their economic status and life. Though I think this is exactly why they did made it with this title, so people would ask why, make it controversial, an interesting point of conversation right from the moment you see it in a movie poster. That's pretty smart.
The film is starred by Alfred Vargas, a great actor who by the way is also a Congressman for the 2nd District of Quezon City. I was a little excited to talk to him since he's been in several projects included in Cinemalaya (Colorum in 2009) and a bunch of independent films in his belt. He's still got that charm, a smooth talker, quite pleasing to be with even if it's the first time I've seen him. During this visit, they were shooting several scenes in a forest in Quezon City (location will not be disclosed) and will contain several action sequences as this is partly a story that's got half of its foot inside Philippine rebel forces. Here's a short talk with the good looking man from Quezon City:
As you may have heard, the film is set in a war torn place in Mindanao. Some of these kids are child warriors, employed by rebellious movements which I know happens in real life. At a very young age, how do they learn to read and write? The answer is they don't. These are Filipinos who neither read or write and they grow up with that, incapacitated, not able to proceed and attain educational levels like what normal people do in the city. I bet this is where Alfred's character Aquil will come in, no matter how that sounds so Encantadia, they didn't know nor did they have that name all figured out before filming. It was just as the Director had written it.
We also talked to Perry Escano after the scenes were shot, one interesting thing he told me about was the group that is supposedly involved in this film. It's not mentioned if it's NPA, or MILF, MNLF, or Abu Sayyaf, but he says you'll learn about the group by listening in to their lines. As you may understand there are one or more of these groups present down south and they do exist until now. In a nutshell, there are still some socio-political discussions included in it. These deem important points to discuss for the film to remain relevant, I totally understood that part. Listen in:
Director Perry Escano also mentioned how he chose these kids Miggs Cuaderno, Marc Justin Alvarez and Micko Laurente. Mind you, these kids are no strangers to film projects and already have awards to prove it. When they were already in the cast, and working, they only had very few takes. He felt it was even daunting to choose who to concentrate the most in each scene as they were all good. The Director also touched on how it is difficult to send educators, professors, teachers to war torn provinces, a case that is still existent now. How do you teach these children the basics? When you fear for your life, when you don't even know if you could fall victims to these groups, get kidnapped and be at the pages of newspapers the next day? Would you want your kids to even live in the midst of these people? How important is education to have been even put in a situation that it might even cost your life? Would this film warrant attention? I guess it should, as the writer wanted it to be.
Alvin Barcelona is also part of this film, he confirms these incidents happen as he hails from the area where this occurs. It's not some horror story, or a figment of imagination, he confirms this is real life and worked in the region for years. He knows how education, livelihood and means to live a normal life would end years of armed struggle, because people have no means to live or put food on their table. Here's our interview:
Handpicked for the role months back is Kiko Matos. I talked to him while it was raining hard that evening, but I was glad he wasn't as what media depicted him in his fights with Baron Geisler. He was cool, calm, reflective of the man he wanted to depict, an officer of the Philippine Army. He did shy away from his character and says it was a film about the plight of the kids and how they lived in conflict torn areas. He also tells the story on how he ended up getting the role, and how this film bested about 200 entries for Cinemalaya. He quirps this should be a subject that media hopefully wil discuss lengthily after watching the film.
Here's our interview with Kiko:
This would definitely be a promising thing to watch during Cinemalaya 2017 in August. I just also learned they finished filming yesterday (photo below by Erickson Dela Cruz) and I'm sure I'm not the only one excited to see the final product. I hope it does wonders when it shows in CCP and at least stir some interest about the problems they presented in the movie. Aside from Alfred Vargas, the film also includes James Blanco, Mon Confiado, Lou Veloso, a stellar cast and production.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to talk to you, the people behind ANG GURO KONG DI MARUNONG MAGBASA. Honestly, it was my first time to see a Cinemalaya film being worked on and it was not just a set, I saw passion run through the veins of the actors, the Director and writer, the staff and crew that put these things together. It was an honor to be in the midst of hard working people, I really appreciate how you took care of us from the moment we arrived to the hard rain when we bid goodbye.
I hope this film does what it's supposed to do, to move minds and make the viewers know how important education is to everybody. I also fervently hope someone acts on it, because more than the cause and the issue at hand, there are people who continue to live like this until now.
This is fascinating, and I wish "Ang Guro Kong Di Marunong Magbasa" all the best! Cinemalaya will start around August, make sure you watch this entry along with the final 10 who got in!
Just got off the presscon for "BHOY INTSIK" starred by Raymond Francisco, the official entry of Frontrow Entertainment to the Sinag Maynila 2017. He says "I didn't know at first that there are people living in cemeteries, the parallelism of how these things happen in real life is insurmountable. I play a gay character, dresses up to fool people, but I have a soft heart. I worked with Direk Joey in the past and when I got word that I was going to do the lead role, I was nervous, but Direk was precise and we attacked this role differently. I play different roles really, it's my first lead role and my BIGGEST break. To a point this is gay empowerment, I really don't like gay roles where they get ridiculed, kicked, and this is good."
Also included in this film is Ronwaldo Martin, Coco Martin's brother. He's done several indie films already including Cinemalaya entries like "Pamilya Ordinaryo" and his supportive brother has nothing but good words for him. He's playing Marlon, a not so good guy who also happens to be a con man. He lives with "Boy Intsik" and gets into conflicts with him in this project. He wants to later on be paired with Anne Curtis and also get to where Coco Martin is today. He's got a very good disposition, and I could see Coco Martin in him when he was younger. He's not single, unfortunately for you ladies, and he's had his non showbiz GF for a couple of years now. He says "I was hand picked by Direk Joey and being Marlon Pogi I hope the contrast comes through. I live in a bus, live everywhere and the character calls for something raw which was asked for me in the film. I'm excited to see this on screen! He's going to get booked, but wouldn't be romantically involved with a lady in this film."
Direk Joel Lamangan adds "The story is from real life, it's from a depressed area in Cavite. That person is already dead but when he was alive some of the things in this film was patterned with what he did in the past. I knew RS aka Raymond Francisco was fit for the film because I watched his previous stage plays. They were enemies before and they got to know each other later on. I knew they were all veteran actors, I challenged them to do it and they are good. Ronwaldo is super tight lipped but he does the job quite well and observes people so he could adapt to the role. We have full dimentional characters, and they did it with ease. They are the best assets of this film and they see the need for aesthetic quality, they are a very good addition to the industry. I hope people watch this in SM Cinemas, Gateway Mall and other theaters in Metro Manila! It's not done yet with the sub titling but we're sending this also to Hong Kong hopefully soon."
Sinag Maynila 2017 will run from March 9-14, 2017 in selected cinemas in Metro Manila.
Okay so here's the thing, this event was a little different because I've never heard or seen this actress, she's known as Teri Malvar. Don't get me wrong, this is an innocent mistake because she's like someone I've never met before (in person) but when I heard the roles she's been in, I suddenly realized I was wrong... and apparently I have seen her before. She's a diamond in the rough and I think GMA Artist Center has been keeping her in the coffers because as young as she looks, she's actually MORE experienced in acting. Mind you, she's already a multi awarded actress, recognized even abroad, nope, no joke!
She's known for her projects "Ang huling cha-cha ni Anita" (her first indie film 2013), Oh, My Mama! (a GMA TV series during 2016) and "Hamog" wherein she recently won Best Actress at the Moscow International Film Festival (2015). She also did some notable roles in "Sud sa ginhawaan" (a short film) and "Sakaling hindi makarating" which also drew acclaim locally; making her one of the most awarded and critically acclaimed artists of her generation.
Not only that, she's a very good painter, hence this small activity that GMA Artist Center prepared for us so we could get to know her. Sip & Gogh was perfect as they had wine, cheese, fruits and crackers for us, and a couple of sodas, juices for the young ones. It was a great bonding time because in the end, we had our masterpieces done OUR way.
Teri Malvar who's now known as Therese Malvar will continue to make indie films and projects on TV through GMA her home station. For some of you, you might not know her now but with these recent recognition and a couple of plans of GMA Artist Center for her in the pipeline, you won't have to use Google anymore because you'll say you know her, Therese Malvar.
Here's our short video interview:
I mentioned that she's also in "Sakaling Hindi Makarating", if you can still catch it in theaters please watch it. I like the story and might spill if I told you about it here. So better rush to theaters and their Facebook page here if you want to know more about it. Thank you Teri, thank you to GMA Artist Center and her sponsors for having us, til next time!
You will be in for a treat as TV5 brings in a new addition to theie lineup of programs. You've been witness to the success of Brillante Mendoza and how he has worked so steadfastly to put the Philippines in the movie world map. He's won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival for his masterpiece Kinatay. He also was instrumental for Jaclyn Jose's portrayal of Ma'Rosa that earned her the Best Actress Award. He's now bringing that same quality into TV via this new show called Brilliante Mendoza Presents to feature made for TV movies on Television once a month. Isn't that awesome news?
Coach Chot Reyes says "It's our honor to present our most exciting surprise this 2017. As early as January we're going to have a made for TV movie on Brilante Mendoza Presents. We are continuing our content that hasn't been seen on local television and who else to do it but the best, Director Brillante Mendoza. It will start January but come February we are going to have a mini series called AMO with Derek Ramsay talking about the Chinese Community. The message is that we are open for partnerships, just come to us and we are not bound by anything so we can co produce if you present to us. We are an alternative, we are another choice. It's going to run every last Saturday of every month but we're going to air January 21 because we have the last Saturday for Miss Universe."
Direk Brillante adds "We will shoot in the entire country and we will feature stories from the provinces. We will focus on characters as we go along, even talk about the illegal drug trade. There will also be other film makers that I am going to work with. We will have full length films, with the goal of featuring them on international festival. I'm really excited to work with TV5. Aside from TV5 talents, we have indie actors and focus on the content rather than the stars. For the first episode an actual performer because it's needed on the Dragon Dance. For the series, Derek will be there. If we get them, we'll let you know as soon as the teasers for January are ready you'll see them all on TV early that month."
Now you can watch his films on free TV and expect world class television programs on D5 Studio and TV5.
I haven't seen this event last year, but it's always a good day to get acquainted with TOFARM FILM FESTIVAL as they create a new avenue for film makers to showcase their work on it's second year. Universal Harvester Incorporated's Executive Vice President Dr. Milagros How expressed her excitement as they are seeking talented individuals from all over the country, of which they just started the first leg this August 24-30, and starting the ones in Cebu and Davao this September and October too.
With the theme "Planting Seeds of Change" they want to take this year's festival to new heights to en-vibe the farmer's everyday realities and tell stories that reveal success, hard work, and life stories of those who belong in the agricultural sector. They are working in difficult regions, and the corporation has been also giving awards for unheard farmers who have been able to inspire others since a few years ago. They are doing something and that's a great deed in itself.
Festival and Famed Director Maryo J. Delos Reyes says "This came in a time where there should be an awareness amongst our people that agriculture, farming and the life around it should be regarded as a noble and honorable profession. Working on the theme Planting the Seeds of Change means the farmer needs to open himself up and imrpove his life, accept change and innovations so they could farm even greater and yield a film that talks about their lives, include this in the process. I enjoin hobbyists and producers before Friday at the TOFARM offices, accomplished forms with synopsis and a full length screenplay in Filipino. We will make sure everything will be impartial and be sure we are producing quality films."
In this year's festivities, the judges, the screening committee and organizers are going to pick 6 film scripts which would have a Php 1.5 Million grant to start off their projects and put it on the silver screen. The judges then will award the 3rd Best Film Php 300,000, 2nd Best Film with Php 400,000 and the Best Film with Php 500,000. There will be a Special Jury Award also amounting to Php 100,000. The winners will also take home the coveted TOFARM Film Fest Trophy, something only a few people posses. They already set a deadline on November 18, 2016 so if you are thinking of joining, you better have your entries submitted before that date.
For more information on how to join, please check out their official website www.TOFARM.org and their official Facebook Page TOFARM Festival Philippines. You may also reach them at info.TOFARM@gmail.com.
