GSK Employees Spend Time with Smile Train Beneficiaries

I have always regarded these people as purposed workers, those who extend a hand, go over and beyond their 4 corner office and do something beneficial for those who need it most.

Last year, November 23, about 400 Glaxo Smith Kline employees went to visit some of their partner organizations 16 Gawad Kalinga sites and two Smile Train facilities as part of their Orange Day efforts. Their company allows one paid day off a year so they can help in one authorised charity activity. This one in photo was the Smile Train facility in Sta. Mesa Manila wherein they visited people with cleft palate conditions, most of which they were able to help have surgeries then have speech therapy from Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines and totally changed their way of life. It is one of their passions, volunteering per se is GSK's way of creating positive and sustainable change in communities. They too will benefit from it as they bring new energy back and learn from these experiences to GSK.

GSK continues to plan fund raising activities and have their employees pledge to spend time with these beneficiaries as they commemorate their 50th year in the Philippines. A milestone worth celebrating as they make more Filipinos do more, live better, longer.
