This morning was one for the books as popular online shopping app SHOPEE finally unveiled their latest Shopee ambassador. It was actually very obvious as it wouldn't really make sense if he wasn't one because his hit prime time variety show has always delivered help to the masses, who else but Willie Revillame aka KUYA WIL. Wowowin on GMA has been a platform for Filipinos to not only find entertainment, but relief from the stresses of everyday life. What's more is that Willie Revillame has been doing this for years now and it has benefited countless Filipinos of mostly poor and underprivileged parts of society, and he hasn't stopped til now. When he did stints for Shopee, the unbelievable response to the app's promos and giveaways showcased why he's been the trusted by everyone, and the live sessions are proof for it.
Shopee Philippines Director Martin Yu introduced him and says "Thank
you for your unwavering support for Shopee. Last year it was a
transformative year for eCommerce. From a commercial, we go to a more
social experience and it will have a key role in doing business. We will
keep driving growth and this 2021, payments, logistics and digitization will be part of that. Today, you can do so much more with

To get the press a little entertained during the event, he got one live audience (from us entertainment media) and one from those who are covering online. He got us to play his hit game choosing between a mystery box and a couple thousand bucks. Well, I think he and Shopee went a little generous and gave the winner a huge surprise. I wished I got picked, but it didn't happen LOL. Congratulations to the winners though!
Oh by the way, Willie is spearheading the sale that's going to happen this 3.3 and 4.4 as their Mega Shopping sale will have Shopee Pay 1 peso deals, Free Shipping and 20% cashback on several products on the app. Well in fact, they've got a whole calendar full of events so you can save from discounts that tons of stores from the app get enabled only on these dates, plus the payday sales, and the things that stores offer on the platform. So you see, there's really a lot of things you can save from the app. I actually get coins and discounts myself which I use for me next purchase on the Shopee app.
Now I don't want to tell you things you wouldn't want to know, but it was also a different experience seeing the Wowowin dancers live during the event.
Aside from that, they also got Bugoy Drilon, Michael Pangilinan, and one of my favorite performers Kris Lawrence to do some RnB numbers, man I was seeing sparkles and doves during this portion. These guys are good, it was crazy good!
To a more serious and not serious note, we sat down with Kuya Wil after the event amd got to ask him a few questions about this endorsement. He answered why he's not stopping helping people and why he's not asking for anything more. He also worries about the people who work for him during this pandemic, it was nice to see how he answered it unrehearsed, the man has a good heart.
Kuya Wil will be appearing in several print, digital and TV commercials so you're bound to see him a couple of times from February to April. He also sees this partnership last a long time, so stay tuned for more of Shopee in Wowowin too!
